I really hope the homeless man who died in the fire is not him, that is a horrible way to die, may that soul rest peacefully. But I also don't think it's very likely Michael is still alive.

That river is so close, and we've seen too many cases that involve young men, alcohol and bodies of water.

“We’ve been everywhere, near rivers, near underpasses, woods, wooded areas along the highways, so forth like that, knocking on doors and questioning businesses and so forth,” Edward McClain, Michael’s father, said. “Very tough, very tough on everyone here, not just me, everyone.”

Search renewed for missing Manchester man
[...]

Family and friends of Michael McClain, 29, have enlisted the assistance of Nashua and Manchester police to try to find him.

The search team met at 45 E. Hollis St., the McDonald’s restaurant where McClain was last seen about 2 a.m. April 21, officials said.

Friends said McClain was with two friends the night of April 20 at the Tropical Lounge on West Hollis Street in Nashua.

When that bar closed, McClain got separated from the friends he had been with, his friends said.

According to police, McClain was then seen a few hours later at the McDonald’s.

This is what doesn’t make sense to me, I assumed that he was at the McDonald’s soon after the fight and call to his boss but this says it was a couple hours later. Bad reporting? If not, what was he doing for 1-2 hours? Especially if someone was apparently chasing him?

Michael “Mike” McClain, 29, was last heard from around 2:00 a.m. on Sunday, April 21, 2019, after he left the Tropical Lounge on West Hollis Street in Nashua, New Hampshire. There has been no activity on his social media accounts or credit cards since then. Mike lived in Manchester, New Hampshire, but was visiting the nightclub in Nashua with friends that Saturday night when an altercation broke out. Nashua Police confirmed to Dateline in 2019 that they arrived on the scene and the crowd dispersed. Friends who were with Mike at the club told police that’s when they became separated. Mike’s father believes his son left the area on foot because his car was back at a friend’s house in Manchester. He told Dateline that shortly before 2:00 a.m., Mike called his boss and told her, “They’re after me. More than one.” When the boss tried to call him back, there was no answer. Mike’s phone last pinged at the McDonald’s on East Hollis Street around 2:00 a.m. After that, no one could reach him. Nashua Police Lieutenant Joshua Albert told Dateline in November of 2022 that even though Mike is still missing, the Nashua Police Department has concluded its investigation into his disappearance, although they do not want to “completely close the door on any new tips.” Mike is 5’10”, and weighs 190 lbs. He has brown eyes but wears green contacts, has brown hair in braids, and a goatee-style beard. He has various tattoos on his hands and arms. Anyone with information should continue to contact the Nashua Police Department at (603) 594-3583 or the Manchester Police Department at (603) 668-8711. Mike’s case number is #19-26944.

The NPD has “concluded the investigation”
Yet no answers!
I’m sure the family feels really good about that comment.. ugh

I wonder if his boss knew the context of his alarming statement over the phone- had she been privy to something that had been happening? Why call her?
