Missing Mother

March 24, 2020

The Manchester Police Department needs the public’s help in finding a 30 y/o woman who has possibly left the area with her three children (ages 10, 9, and 6). Samantha Furman of Manchester has active Felony arrest warrants for Interference with Custody. She shares custody with the children’s father. She has not been seen since March 10th. Furman has been known to use drugs.

Furman may be in the company of 43 y/o Michael Lemire. Both his picture and Furman’s are included below. (Lemire is not wanted) The two may be in a 2003 Saturn Ion sedan, red in color with the license plate NH 4547486.

If anyone has any information please call Lt Matthew Larochelle at 603-792-5563. You can also call the Crime Line and remain anonymous. That number is 603-624-4040.

Wait, she disappeared with three young kids on March 10, and no one notices for 14 days?

Known to use drugs. Shared custody?
Unsupervised?

Sadly, with most custody cases, no one is aware of anything until the parent who has visitation or other family members haven't received contact from the parent or children. If she is known to use drugs I would recommend they search the parks, local "hot spots", if she does have her kids with her keep a close eye on her finances (99% chance she'll probably have cash or make a withdraw soon), hotels maybe, but if she's on the run she'll probably sleep in the car with her kids.

I don't understand. If she was a drug addict, why did she have unsupervised visits with the kids?

Reading the comments on the Manchester NH Police Facebook page (linked above), lead me to believe there is shared custody. Dad does not appear to be vocal online but other family members have identified themselves. It would appear this is an ongoing long term situation in this family. JMO tho. I would guess the 3 kids are accustomed to this? Maybe? Just guessing. Poor little ones. No school to give them structure or normalcy.

But why would Dad agree to shared custody if she's a drug addict?

The courts must follow the best interest of the child. It’s extremely difficult to pull custody from a parent. Too many times it turns into a “he said, she said” situation with brutal parental alienation going on. Dad may not have agreed and/or Dad could be just as bad as Mom. No one really knows. However, the comments online give glimpses of a lifestyle that’s been going on for some time. JMO

Found!!!! Manchester NH Police on Twitter

**FOUND*** Samantha Furman and her three children have been found safe in Maryland. Police received a tip from someone in that area. The foursome had disappeared from the Manchester area a few weeks ago.
