Nicola Sallese has been missing since the 17th of November 2008. He was driving a Toyota Camry sedan on Sheffield in the north of Tasmania. Rego Number FH 2973.
A man on holiday in southport, southern Tasmania, recalls a man that resembled Nicola asking for directions to 7 mile beach, which is near Hobart. He seemed a bit confused after asking for directions and left. Nicola has not been seen since.
Extensive efforts from Down under Dan and Bill McIntosh from Adventures with purpose have been searching waterways looking for Nicola's car have not been successful. The search is still a statewide one and recently just had Daniel from Working Drones Australia on the North West coast searching for Nicola using of Lidar (Light detection and ranging).
We know if we can locate Nicola's car, it will unlock some clues as to where he could be.
Any information can be forwarded to Tasmanian police on 131 444.

There was an update today and the following was taken from the Nicola Sallese Facebook page.

"Last week I had a phone conversation with a person who had some information regarding Nicola. The person has stated that he had met Nicola previous to his disappearance and was therefore confident that it was Nicola the following information is about.
The date of the sighting was around the 19th of November 2008., in Margate (southern Tasmania) at the local tip shop at 4.15pm (he can recall the time because the tip shop was just closing). He spoke with Nicola and gave him directions on how to get to Hobart, and Nicola had also asked the lady in the tip shop how to get to Hobart. While Nicola was chatting to the lady in the tip shop the person looked at Nicola's car (due to owning a few Toyota Camrys himself) and noticed damage down the left side of the car (Nicola's car did have some damage from a previous accident).
So, what does this all mean?
1. It possibly gives a bit more credibility to the Southport sighting.
2. It also gives us direction for Downunder Dan Diving. Previously we have scanned from Southport to Huonville and investigated from Huonville to Cygnet. So, if one day we manage to get Dan back to Tasmania, we would like to be able to search the rest of the coastline in that area.
3. Future searches by Working Drones Australia are scheduled already, in and around the area.
We are grateful to this person for coming forward with this information and we ask you to keep your comments polite and respectful."

So where was he and where was he staying for those 2 days after his disappearance? The next searches will be concentrating on the Margate and surrounding areas.

It was awesome that they managed to find another man who has been missing and bring some closure for that family.

Thanks for posting the links! I've had sick kids and haven't had the time to fond the links. Hopefully this new sighting will help Jason find his dad after all this time.
