Nicole AND Christina Both in Labor! *merged threads*

Bless ya Pharlap. I only birthed one child and had a C-Section. Nothing to it. Seems some stars can just set an appointment up for them. These chicks are fairly young so they'll bounce back quick.

That wasn't an option when I had mine, only for extreme emergency.
Always wondered , I would of liked to compared..Thou you end up with a big scare right?

She may have had a very good reason for scheduling a c-section. There are some medical conditions where it is not up for discussion.

I know it is becoming trendy among the stars, but we shouldn't assume that.

I am so happy for both of them and I remember the excitement of having your child, there is nothing like it. I had my first child the old fashioned way and my second and third were both c-sections. I would take a c-section any day of the week.

I'd love to schedule a C-section someday. I heard this from many women I talk to, and honestly, I don't think I am the type for the natural childbirth thing. I don't deal well with pain.

I had 4 c-sections and my scars are barely noticable, my bikini panties covers them up. I can tell you though that each c-section was different. With the first and third I was up the same day and there ws minimal pain, but numbers 2 and 4 were awful. I could not walk for two weeks, I got an infection and the pain was excruciating.

Congrats to both new mom's! I am such a huge Christina fan. Loved her ever since the song she sung for Mulan (the Disney movie)

LOl I am not big on pain either MrsG. My first the natural way was very difficult. My second I triend to have naturally and after 8 hours had to have an emergency c-section. My third I insisted when I was 3 months pregnant I wanted a c-section and it was a lovely experience. No pain at all and I was awake and able to really enjoy my childs birth. Everyone has a different experience but those were mine.:)

No big scar at all like Teonspaleprincess said. I'd take a big scar though any day over the episiotomy (sp). Stitches in the gut trumps stitches in the coochie any day. I had endometriosis so I had other surgeries. That time I got cut open and got a baby out of it. Man, my mom had me so afraid of an episiotomy at least I knew how a laparotomy went down.

Christina is not an anorexic and never has been. She is an amazing singer and i think its definitely news worthy to announce she gave birth today. News doesnt always have to be sad and horrific. I personally was very excited when i read it on tmz earlier today and even called my mom to tell her!
KC, I agree with you. I think we need to see this type of thing in the news just as much as the awful things, to remind us that there are still good things happening in the world!

Maybe she needs a c-section for any of a variety of reasons - if you've EVER seen Christina live, she is an extremely TINY person, maybe her OB didn't think her pelvis was big enough for a trial of labor for this baby due to its size, or more likely, maybe this baby was breech and Christina and her husband opted not to do an external version, which carries with it a number of risks to the mother and fetus.
Other than that, maybe she was just too posh to push. I won't put that past her, being in Hollywood and all, but I don't want to jump to that conclusion. But lots of docs even in Hollywood are going away from that - elective c-sections on women who have not had c-sections before. I like Christina, and I hope she had a great delivery.

I agree - she is THIN, but she is tiny all over, not anorexic in any degree. She is very proportional. She is a huge voice for such a little person! She is really a talented woman!

Exactly!!

Having a baby is a great thing....its not it was like "Christina went to the grocery store today and bought..cheese."

Yeah she is. I love her. She is my absolute favorite. She has a beautiful body. One that i would die for. She is one of the few that actually has her head on her shoulders.
