Forrest was last seen in Troy, Ohio on September 25, 2010. She was living with her godmother at the time. They got into an argument and Forrest packed her bags and left. That same evening, she went to see her boyfriend in Troy, Ohio, eight miles from Piqua. He is possibly the father of her unborn baby.
The boyfriend said he and Forrest got into an argument about the baby's paternity and he took her luggage and placed it outside. While they were together in his driveway, a blue car pulled up and Forrest got into it and left. She has never been heard from again.
A few days after her disappearance, an elderly couple found her purse on a covered bridge on Eldean Road, off County Road 25-A, between Piqua and Troy. It contained her medication, identification, food stamp card and other belongings.
The couple took the purse to the Piqua Kroger store and left it there without giving their names. Authorities would like to talk to these witnesses.
At the time of her disapearance, Forrest had no permanent address and lived with a series of relatives and friends, keeping in touch with daily text messages. She never picked up her last paycheck from her waitressing job at a Waffle House.
Authorities stated there is no evidence of foul play in Forrest's disappearance, but they are concerned about her health and well-being. She had had three previous miscarriages and it's uncharacteristic of her to leave without warning.
Forrest has relatives in Troy and she also has ties to Tennessee and Washington state. Her case remains unsolved. Piqua police are investigating.
Forrest, 19, who had been somewhat transient during the previous year, disappeared September 25, 2010. That day, she had two arguments in two Miami County cities, one in Piqua and one in Troy. The first argument was with a friend of her late mother. Forrest had been staying at the woman's home on Piqua's Young Street. The argument was about the rules Forrest was to respect to stay there, and Forrest responded by packing her things and leaving.
It's unknown how she travelled the eight miles to the northern part of Troy, but she arrived there later that same evening. She stopped by a girlfriend's place on Trade Square West, then walked to the home of an ex-boyfriend about three blocks away. That man reported that they argued about her plans for the two of them to move away from the area. Then, while the two were in his driveway, a blue car picked her up and she left, he told police.
That is the last reported sighting of Forrest, who was midway through a high-risk pregnancy that required she take daily medication. That medication was found days later in her shoulder bag, along with her identification card, a food stamp card and some other personal items. The people who found the bag saw the prescription issued by the pharmacy at the Covington Avenue Kroger in Piqua, and took it there. The pharmacy called Forrest's emergency contact, who then contacted police.
Police have never identified the people who dropped off the bag and still hope they come forward. They told Kroger employees that they found the bag on a covered bridge on Eldean Road, off County Road 25-A, just north of Troy and five miles from where Forrest was last seen. Police obtained Forrest's cellular phone records, but it hasn't been used since she vanished. A waitress at a Waffle House said that Forrest never picked up her last paycheck.
Forrest was not known to police before she went missing, but a number of her acquaintances were.
Nikki’s boyfriend has still not been publicly identified, but in 2017 authorities announced that they decided to dig up his property after cadaver dogs tracked the scent of human remains in his backyard.
Investigators have not revealed what they found at the search, but it has been reported that two pieces of “significant evidence” were located. At this time, Nikki remains missing and there have otherwise been very few updates on her case. There are also no public records of her ever giving birth to her child.
