People don't kill just for a bike, then dump the body next door. Either these kids were high, have huge mental issues or just felt she was not worthy of respect because of who she was. Those are the sorts of reasons people kill in this scenario, not because of a bike. She wasn't sexually assaulted, there simply is no rational reason to have done what they did. That leaves the irrational reasons. I guess it could have been intimidation that got out of hand and they accidently killed her, but these kids are old enough to know better.

Yes, people do kill over bikes. People kill over spare change, stolen parking spots, someone "dissing" them, and sometimes just because they feel like it. Especially when you are talking about young, emotionally immature criminals.

In fact, I'm watching a documentary on Discovery ID right now about an 18 year old kid who murdered 3 people over a car. More specifically-he killed one woman because he wanted her car, and then killed two more people so that he could get the garage clicker. He was executed for it.

No, it's not rational...but it happens every day :(

Thanks for sharing that Hickory born. There's a lot of info in that article I hadn't been aware of. Specifically, it talks about Facebook posts on the younger suspects Facebook wall. How is the media seeing these posts?? I've been looking at that page all day & all I see is a profile picture & a "Joined Facebook on [Date]" post.

Maybe someone took screen shots of it early on...or maybe the newspaper knew someone who was a friend and they looked at it from that account. You are correct, lots of info in this article.

The one's riling up racial stuff on the news articles on the stories aren't locals they are Neo Nazi and other White Supremacy groups.

Many people are racist without being part of those groups. I doubt any of the racist news comments are by white supremacy members.

RIP Sweet Autumn.
So very sad.

Good for the boys' mom for reporting her sons (if I am understanding that correctly)- how many times have we seen suspect's/the accused's mothers try to convince the media and all of us their child was oh so innocent and keep on enabling their children's criminal ways? Good for her. If there's a $10,000 reward I hope she gets it- if I were her I'd need years of therapy to get over the fact that I had raised two kids who'd kill over a bike, so I'd use the money for that).

On Autumn's fb page..

comments under the picture of the two suspects show a screenshot where one of the boys posted to Autumn's brother.

Looks like he was fishing for info on the search

I don't know what scares me most...a senseless accident stemming from a simple bike robbery, or something much more sinister.

I attached the picture - snagged it from a South Carolina newspaper here: http://bit.ly/RUB9r5

That just breaks my heart. Thank you for reposting. I saw the text but somehow missed the photo. The pic just seems to show the grief of the collective town.

I posted that on the home page of Suddenlink a photo was shown of a boy who went to the abandoned house, sat down on the steps and cried, then rode off on his bike.

No, this was not one of the suspects. I do wonder if he was Autumn's brother though.

I thought it was her brother.

Just remembered that our public schools went to uniforms because kids were killing kids for clothing! Where do they learn this stuff?

No sex, so it has to be over the bike.

Like I previously said - this isn't a cheap $150 bike from Walmart. Odyssey parts are expensive, even if used.

IIRC, you called it very early on. I thought you were a little crazy at the time. Now I wish you were crazy. It's all so sad.

I just don't get how someone can murder someone with premeditation and then express guilt and regret and then turn themselves in? Were police even getting close or have them as a lead?

The boys mom turned them in.

Did some reporter just ask about racial tensions? Were these boys minorities?

I missed the reporter asking that but looking at the news videos, this appears to be a well mixed neighborhood with the neighbors coming together. I question the 'racial tensions' and think perhaps that is a way to stir the news pot.

The boys mom turned them in.

The Mom went to give the cops keys to the house to find the evidence but the boys walked and turned himselfs in I believe.

Regarding the charge of First Degree Murder, this site reports :

"Both brothers were charged Tuesday with first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit murder, disposal of the body, theft, and tampering with evidence. JR also was charged with luring, authorities said, because he allegedly had asked Pasquale to come to the house under the pretense of trading bicycle parts."

The article also states the exact time when one of the brothers clicked like on the FB page.

Hickory .... take out the boys name.

strangled with blunt force trauma could that mean she was hung?

Any word on Autumn's biomom?

  • #998
It's possible they were strangling her, but she was taking too long to die (UGH sick) so they bashed her in the head. :( When they do the autopsy, they can determine if there are fingernails marks on her neck to see if she was conscious when the strangulation was happening.

She was with them when they turned themselves in. She called LE about their FB postings and got the whole thing going in the first place. The DA thanked her today for her help at the press conference.

A new article states that some thought that the mom had moved out and didn't know who was living at the home other than the boys? But the same article states some contridict that stating that the mom had a business in the basement.

I just watched our local news here on channel 6 and they were outside the boys home and went to the door for a comment. The boys stepfather answered the door and just said they were sending prayers to the family but had no other comment.
