Sorry about that! Warren County is working with DNA Solutions and using investigative genetic genealogy to identify Princess Doe and Tiger Lady. Using a grant, Princess Doe has been exhumed. So far, recent attempts to extract DNA from her clavicle and femur haven't been successful. Her jaw and teeth are also being considered.

Additionally, they have access to Tiger Lady's organs (heart, lungs, kidney, liver) and bones (skull, jaw, teeth). They will find out within days if there is enough DNA present to avoid the $5,000 exhumation cost. They are confident they won't have to exhume her.

@faithx Wow!! Thanks for the update.

just as Walker County Jane Doe was nicknamed "Ruthie" by one of our posters, i think of the Princess as "Jane".

Has anyone else read the fictional novel based on Princess Doe's case? Thoughts?

I didn't read it, but I've seen the AMW episode which used that novel as a basis for the hypothetical account of the murder they were showing. It seems pretty likely that she was somewhat estranged from her family, because it's just so weird that no one seems to know her. It might be because I don't live in the USA and because of my unique clothing, but being 17, having teachers, family members and friends, I think someone would recognise me if I were to become a Doe.

The only questionable thing is the "damaged goods" part of the story to me. A pimp trying to kill a prostitute would stab her or dismember her (look up Ina Jane Doe, this case seems more like a "damaged goods" sex worker to me, but be careful as the recons are VERY distressing to look at).

He would not bother beating her to death. Which means the violence of the crime screams "personal" to me. Combined with the fact the location she was dumped at was pretty precise, I think someone local to Blairstown had a personal problem with Princess and killed her. Either that or we're talking about a serial killer whom :

A. Took joy in the violence they inflicted upon people, which would mean this murder had something to do with pure sadism rather than personal hatred for the victim ;

B. Tried to kill her using another method, realised she was still alive, panicked and beat her to death.

True Crime All The Time just released an episode on Princess Doe. Worth a listen.
A few things they brought up in the Podcast (probably are in this thread but I don't remember off hand) - she told someone that she was a run away from Florida and her father was a dentist.

It 's worth a listen.

That is actually pretty plausible. I dont buy into the prostitution theory at all with this case. I think she was a runaway who fell prey to someone who sexually assaulted her and beat her. Both are found with perpetrators who know the victim and who do not know the victim.

Two questions:

1) What's the consensus here on the validity of the Kinlaw's claims?
2) How was it concluded that she might've lived in Arizona for some amount of time?

I need to catch up on this thread. I haven't been on it in quite some time.

From Wiki:
One theory was submitted that Princess Doe may have been a runaway and could have been an individual using false names while employed at a hotel in Ocean City, Maryland. Six people have recently come forward with suspected identities of Princess Doe.[10] In 2012, a sample of her hair and a tooth were examined through isotope analysis and indicated that the victim was most likely born in the United States. The sample of her hair indicated that she had lived at least seven to ten months in the Midwestern or Northeastern United States. The tooth sample indicated she could possibly be from Arizona

It was isotope testing, both hair and teeth. AZ would be the more long-term location, based on her tooth. Now that you mention it, it is very specific compared to other results we've seen.
Did they ever do a pollen test on her? I can't remember. I think forensic DNA is the way to go now, though.

And PS, Springrain, it's good to see you posting again.

Regarding the location being "precise" as someone mentioned, the place where she was dumped is on a main road that is also very near Interstate 80. I don't think it had to be someone who knew the area well. Even now, the area appears pretty rural when you're on I-80, so in the early 1980's, I think it's plausible that whoever killed her just thought, This looks like a good spot.

That is the weird thing. I am not too far from the location and it is still rural probably about the same as the early 80s. I have looked at some historical aerial photos and it seems most of the building etc. that were there back then are still there today. And while it is plausible that someone happened by and determined that location to be a good spot, it seems that, all along the route from 80 to Blairstown, there are many better spots. Meaning, spots that discovery of the body may have been weeks, months or even years. Maybe it has to do with likelihood that someone would notice or be alarmed by the presence of a vehicle? i.e a vehicle in the cemetery at night may be thought as odd while a vehicle elsewhere at night might trigger a call to the police? That is unless who ever did it wanted her to be found, just not right away.

Sorry, I should've clarified, I was curious why the tooth sample hinted at that. I thought Arizona seemed oddly specific. I was also wondering what kind of testing it was.

A little off topic. I was just watching a lecture series about Native American People in North America and part of the discussion was concerning the migratory pattern of the bison. It seems that, for instance, a certain area of the great plains contained a high amount of lead in the grass etc. The scientist could look at a tooth, thousands of years old, and determine where the bison herds had been and then determine the migration of people hunting them.

Following up, here is an article that confirms what you've shared. Princess Doe. Tiger Lady. And a new effort to learn who they really were.

Rachel and Laureen have already been ruled out. The appendectomy scar alone would rule our Wendy, as Princess Doe's body was in a remarkably pristine condition when she was found (except for her face, that is) and it was found out she had no scars.

I also noticed something on Unidentified Wiki. They added an early sketch of Princess, which suggests she might have had wavy hair (most recons depict her with straight hair).
