I wonder if this sweater could be from the same artist View attachment 431047

I traced the sweater to the Morning Sun brand a few years ago. Unfortunately, not much of a help. It’s the type of thing you’d have seen in Kmart-type places, and I imagine probably common in thrift stores.

I believe this is their current website Morning Sun

Most of her clothing was fairly unremarkable. Playtex bra and underwear, from what I recall. Some of the labels were missing or worn out. The shoes were Adidas Sambas.

It would be interesting to know the brands of the rest of her clothing. Yes, it is possible she was from abroad and something went wrong with the job she had planned for the summer and then she committed suicide as a result. That wouldn't be the reaction of the vast majority of people who would find themselves in such a situation ( albeit it would be challenging) but maybe she was just more fragile.

Many Eastern European teens/young adults come to the Jersey shore area to work over the summer months. Here is an article from 2010:

It has always been my thought. Her tan and scars on her hands made me think of working on the boardwalk, maybe in a kitchen. The Islander paper, if it’s the correct one, was dated a day or two prior and published a few miles to the south for Long Beach Island—prime spot for summer work.

However, the government has taken biometrics at ports of entry since at least 2004. If she was deceased and consequently overstayed her visa, her prints may have matched up in a national database. However, I’m not sure as to what extent these databases are shared amongst agencies. There can be jurisdiction issues as well as agencies being a bit territorial.

There have been cases I have looked into where local PD and coroners would share reports and readily have conversations. I’ve had others where they don’t want to talk to me at all.

I'm surprised just looking through the comments photos the body hasn't been as identified as Beata Rempisz yet. The facial reconstruction looks like her.

The sweater she or who whoever the Jane Doe was(lets just call her that for the rest of this paragraph) was carrying maybe they were working at one of the arcades/rides or at the counter or at a pizza place because it does get cold at night along the Jersey Shore Town boardwalks. Maybe whoever Jane Doe reported too(a manager) maybe Jane Doe just "silent quit" on their own because maybe other people had just stop showing up(i.e. silently quit)wherever Jane Doe had worked at one of the Jersey Shore towns boardwalks.

The bracelet another poster suggested on this thread maybe the Beata may have purchased it in Carteret, NJ. Beata was reported missing in Woodbridge, NJ in 2006 somebody else had posted on this thread. Carteret borders Woodbridge so its not that far fetched at all that the bracelet may have been purchased in Carteret. I know other posters on this thread have said the bracelet was sold in other countries too though.

I do live in New Jersey myself just to note.

Yes, she does look promising. Have you contacted the investigating agency about her?

The bottom right photo looks like a young woman in her 20's

On a side note I think it's gonna be hard to see if somebody remembered her in Brielle, Manasquan, or Point Pleasent because 15 years has gone by. Also I'm not sure if she did have a job at one of the Jersey Shore Towns the place where she worked or might have been asking about a summer job the place may not be there anymore. The reason I say that is that some places fold up shop because of Hurricane Sandy which happened in real late October/real early November 2012. We hardly have hurricanes at the Jersey Shore. The last one before Hurricane Sandy in 2012 was Hurricane Donna in 1960. In the section of New Jersey where I live we had Hurricane Floyd in September 1999 but before that if we had a real bad storm it was bad snowstorms in the winter time.

Beata's daughter doesn't believe this Doe is her mother and there's DNA available for comparison.
Most of the pics on this thread resemble Beata but I take Beata's daughter's word for it that the doe is not her Mom. I might post something this weekend on this thread because I had a question that maybe somebody else could answer on this thread. Had I known in 08 about the Jane Doe on this thread I would have gone to the shore and shown the picture of the Doe in different Shore Towns around Brielle. I used to go to the Shore some(mostly Seaside Heights and Belmar) because I had 4 day work weeks at the time in the late 2000's. Now its harder with 5 day work weeks.

Does anybody know what direction this Jane Doe was walking in before she committed suicide?

I did post prior that its gonna be hard to remember this Jane Doe and who she was. Its gonna take somebody who has been working in that area of the shore from summer to summer. I'm thinking about taking a picture off this thread because I am going to the shore in a couple weeks maybe I might see somebody older that maybe recalls this Jane Doe. It doesn't hurt to ask.

This was not confirmed, but the incident report indicated that the train was heading towards Bayhead. I'm not sure that she was walking, though, as the report did not describe an upright person.

I'd like to throw out the possibility that this doe is Canadian. My friends and I (teens at the time) wore those bracelets but not out of religious affiliation, just as a fashion trend. I wish there was a brand available for the winter-themed sweater, as it reminds me of items sold at Northern Reflections - a store at the mall geared towards older ladies, but also had kids stuff sometimes, and is nowadays popular to thrift. They sold a lot of bird/nature/seasonal graphic pullovers.

Additionally, the New York tote bag gives off tourist vibes, and the black pants look like the flared Lululemon leggings that were super popular around the time too. The nail polish art makes me think she's on the younger side as well.

Maybe I missed it, but is there proof that she committed suicide vs. fell/was pushed onto the tracks?

I will do my best to look at Canadian MP's around this time.

I don't think that it necessarily provides a Slavic/Russian link, but given the presence of the rosary beads I doubt it was being worn for fashion purposes. I know that icons are also popular in Latin American countries...
I think you have a good line of thought.

Catholic and Eastern Orthodox saints do not usually transfer over to each other for mutual recognition. So... the Latin American bracelets would depict Catholic saints / imagery while say Russian would depict Orthodox saints and imagery.

As you raised the possibility of, the icons on the bracelet are all Catholic saints and imagery. This could increase the possibility of a Latin American.

there are loads of Russians/Ukranians in Brighton Beach Brooklyn, which would be my guess where she was from. unless you have ever encountered the communities there, it is very hard to describe. they are very insular and there are various criminal syndicates that work from those communities.
Most Ukrainians and nearly all Russians are Eastern Orthodox.

But... the rosary is Catholic style (grouping of ten beads with a single bead break). Orthodox rosaries tend to be a string of beads sans being broke into groupings.

Likewise, the saints and Virgin depictions on the bracelet are also Catholic. Orthodox saints and depictions of the Virgin Mary are different. I can see an Eastern Orthodox person having a Catholic style rosary. But the Catholic saints bracelet and the Catholic style rosary would be less likely.

If slavic, the Catholic imagery could move her from Russia / Ukraine to Poland / Slovakia/ Czech republic.

I doubt this was a suicide. She had no pants on. It looks more like she was assaulted and left unconscious on the train tracks.
