I feel sick after reading this. I live a couple buildings away from where Carolyn lived and followed this case closely. My heart hurts for Carolyn’s family.

Byington, who did not normally go home for lunch, was found dead by police who went to her home in the Hunters Glen Apartments in the late afternoon after her co-workers reported she had not returned to work. Police officers, performing a welfare check, found Byington’s lifeless body inside the apartment.

I'm horrified for her family and friends. o_O

I think we learned earlier that CB went home that day because she was expecting a package, and co-workers requested the welfare check when she never returned to the office.

I’ve been following this case since the beginning and honestly can’t believe the revelations on the newest article.

I don’t feel 55 years is justice considering how he stalked her, murdered her, and then had the audacity to try to conspire to murder more people afterwards.

I’m curious as to whether the company they worked for will soon have a lawsuit on their hands considering what happened.

It sure beats the 30-year offer that expired in March 202! IMO, KS is hardly the picture of health, and don't see him surviving 55 years.

I don't recall KS having a criminal record prior to this arrest or that CB made complaints about co-worker KS that her employer ignored. What would be the basis for suing CB's workplace? I

I see where his wife didn't attend court. Has she divorced him? It's hard to wrap my mind around this totally senseless, brutal murder.

She has moved on.

So he somehow snuck her keys out and made a copy and replaced them back before she noticed they were missing? What a total, calculating creep. I’m so sorry she spent the last few moments of her life seeing his disgusting face. RIP.

55 years isn't long enough especially if he will be eligible for parole.
I had the same thought. I guess I’ll just have to hope that 55 will be life for him. I hope her family and friends are satisfied with the sentence and no trial. I wish them peace.

Good lord, this lunatic secretly stole and copied her house key and planted cameras in her apartment--so he was actually violating her long before she actually caught him skulking around her residence on June 10th.

Was he just hanging out there sometimes? Jeez, what an intrusion in her privacy even if she wasn’t there or aware. I realize she knew he was there at the end, but I hope she didn’t realize he’d been in her space before that. Now I’m wondering if stuff was ever moved or something was eaten that she knew she had. I guess I’m just hoping she didn’t have any long-term fear of weird stuff happening.

IIRC from the early media reports, KS and his wife had welcomed their first child not long before he murdered Carolyn. Would like to know when KS’s active stalking of CB began—was it ever since she was hired, or did it start later on?

The last I checked in with this topic, a trial date had been announced for early next year, but I guess I missed him pleading guilty a few weeks ago. What a horrible human being. I feel terribly for Carolyn and her family. 55 years is not nearly long enough for what he did.

Was he really in there to kill her, or was he looking at her personal things , etc., <shiver> and she came in and caught him there? If so, there was still no cause to kill her. SMH.
At least he is caught and will be locked up for at least 45--46 years, IF he gets paroled.

He can stuff his sorry in a sack.

I am glad he finally pled guilty and her family avoided a trial. Hopefully, they never have to think of him again.

Saal was sentenced yesterday. Even though it won’t bring Carolyn back, I am glad her family finally has some closure.

KS had no intention of confessing -- believing he'd be acquitted, he passed on a 30-year plea deal a year earlier. KS is one arrogant actor and his statements to his family read as if from a sociopath which he most likely is.

Good advice from the Judge to Carolyn's loved ones. I hope we never see his name in print again -- especially since I think it thrills KS. MOO

ETA: I also like that another con outsmarted and was the end to KS. That had to really deflate his ego.

It's still creepy to think how much the victim resembled his ex. o_O

He looks completely different in the new pictures. I guess he hasn’t been able to satisfy his gluttony while in prison.

The articles were heart breaking about how she was going to be the maid of honor and her sister’s future children’s god mother.

Based on he tried to set up a second murder I am so surprised that they allowed him 55 years. Frankly it should’ve been life without parole as soon as he tried to place a hit out.
