WALL, NJ — Police are trying to locate a missing mail carrier from Cape May County whose unoccupied car was found on the shoulder of Garden State Parkway in Wall on Sunday.

Wall police are working with Lower Township police to find Corey McFadden, 33, a U.S. Postal Service employee in Cape May City.

McFadden is described as 5-feet, 7-inces tall, weighing about 160 pounds.

His car was found on the shoulder of the Garden State Parkway northbound near milepost 96.4 on Sunday, April 30, at approximately 11:15 a.m.

Co-workers reported him missing after he didn’t show up for work on Monday.

Police conducted a welfare check at his home later that day. Officers could not locate McFadden, but noticed that he left his cell phone and wallet at home, according to his father, Pat McFadden.

Pat McFadden beleives his son was traveling somehwere because he was upset about a conflict that happened at work on Friday.

“He was not in the right frame of mind at the time,” his father said. “He’s an emotional kid.”

From post above "Pat McFadden beleives his son was traveling somehwere because he was upset about a conflict that happened at work on Friday."

Makes me wonder what kind of conflict - boss or co-worker, etc.?

Edited to add: I'm sure they checked, but would the car run when they found it? Did the car have gas? If it was out of gas, he didn't have his wallet with him. I know on Interstates down here, there are roadside assistant "Road Rangers" that carry enough gas to get you going so you can make it to a station, but I don't know if there's anything like that on the Garden State Parkway. If his car wouldn't run maybe he accepted a ride from someone else?

The keys were left in the car. He didn’t take his wallet or phone. He wasn’t in a good state of mind. I’m praying what I’m thinking is wrong.

Isn't that a pay road? I know this is far fetched but I wonder if they can find people who went on that road after him to see if they saw anything. IMO

Yes, the GSP is mostly tolled, though free travel is possible in some areas.

Snippet:

His car had been found Sunday morning and appeared to have run out of gas around mile marker 96.4 on the parkway in Wall Township, Monmouth County, a Lower Township police spokesperson said Thursday. The keys were still inside the car.

This is such a sad situation. From above MSM, he wasn't in a good mind set, left his wallet, keys and cell behind. Did he just drive until the car ran out of gas? Is there at least a credit card or cash missing? Praying that he his hiding somewhere. Dear Lord! IMO

The Cape May postal worker who went missing had contact with police using a fake last name on Sunday, April 30, authorities said.

Corey McFadden, using an alias “Corey Samuels,” had contact with Manasquan Police during the evening hours of April 30, according to Lower Township police.

The above photo was provided from the officer's body camera.

Authorities did not say why McFadden interacted with Manasquan police.

Corey McFadden, of Lower Township, was reported missing by his U.S. Postal Service co-workers in Cape May after he failed to show up for work on May 1.

A day earlier, his abandoned vehicle was found along the northbound side of the Garden State Parkway around 11:15 a.m. near milepost 96.4 in Monmouth County, Wall police said.

That evening he interacted with police in nearby Manasquan, police said. Manasquan police provided a photo of McFadden from an officer’s body camera.

His family said there were unconfirmed sightings of McFadden in Monmouth County later that week, but they aren’t sure if it was actually him.

“There is no new information that I can provide at this time,” Lower Township police Capt. Donald Vanaman Jr. said in an email on Thursday. “He has not yet been found.”

Wall police said Wednesday they continued to assist Lower Township in the search for McFadden. They have searched neighborhoods near the Garden State Parkway where McFadden’s vehicle was found.

Sad news :(

Cory McFadden, the Cape May postal worker who had been missing since late April is dead.

His body was found and identified by his family, according to a message posted on social media Saturday.

Sadly, the search is over as Corey’s body has been found and identified. Since this is an active investigation, there are no further details that can be shared. The family will make a statement when appropriate and requests that you respect their privacy during this troubling time.

The McFadden family would again like to express their sincere gratitude TO EVERYONE for all of the love, help and support they’ve received in trying to find Corey. Please keep them in your prayers!
