It doesn't sound like she cared at all about her baby. JMO. And I have A LOT of compassion for abused women and homeless women in vulnerable situations. I know it's hard to get out of abusive relationships without a support system/help. But I can't muster much sympathy or say I believe her story.
Even if (as an example, not saying this happened) she had perhaps talked to her boyfriend previously about giving her baby away, no it does NOT make sense. No loving birth mother that I know of would let her boyfriend just give her baby away while she was gone to the store without having a chance to at least kiss her child goodbye. No. No. No. This stinks. :fishy::moo:

The pregnancy and birth might not have been voluntary on her part. Abusive men oops women to keep them weak and vulnerable and to stop them from running away. They don’t necessarily want the child after the birth because the child is a means to an end: tie down the victim.

A Hudson County jury on Tuesday convicted 38-year-old Travis Plummer following a week-long trial.

Prosecutors say the Richmond resident's criminal record will mean a 10- to 20-year term when he is sentenced May 17.

A jury in Jersey City found him guilty Tuesday — with closing arguments finally coming on Monday — following a year-long trial.

“At trial, the evidence established that Te’Myah Layauna Plummer, born on May 19, 2016, died at some point late in the summer of 2017 and that [Plummer] thereafter concealed her body in a suitcase which he brought to Jersey City on November 1, 2017, and then hid in a garage for four months,” prosecutors recounted in a statement.

“In March 2018, Plummer dumped the suitcase off the Tonnelle Avenue Bridge, just off Broadway in Jersey City, onto the side of the PATH train tracks below before fleeing to Miami and then Puerto Rico,” prosecutors said. “Te’Myah’s body was discovered by Port Authority employees on April 11, 2018.”

The results of Te’Myah’s autopsy brought perhaps the most shocking development of the case when the medical examiner determined that cocaine intoxication was among the causes of her death, as well as “violence.”

But some questions regarding Te’Myah’s death — like where it took place and who is responsible — may never be answered.

A source with knowledge of the investigation previously told The Jersey Journal that the autopsy did not determine the time of her death or the location, making it impossible for prosecutors to claim they have jurisdiction and file homicide charges.

Virginia man gets 20 years for desecration of his toddler’s remains


JERSEY CITY — A Virginia felon was sentenced to 20 years in prison Friday for desecrating the remains of his 23-month-old daughter whose dead body he stuffed inside a suitcase and kept hidden in a Jersey City home until he dumped it near Journal Square in 2018.

Travis Plummer, 38, has six prior convictions and will have to serve 10 years of the sentence for desecrating the remains of Te’Myah Plummer before being eligible for parole. The toddler was wrapped in plastic bags and Plummer sprinkled it with carpet cleaner when it began to decompose in order to avoid detection.

A West Virginia man was sentenced to years in prison for concealing his toddler daughter's body in a suitcase and dumping it along the PATH tracks in Jersey City last year, prosecutors say.

Travis Plummer, 38, was sentenced to 20 years in state prison — 10 without parole — after being convicted for the unlawful concealment of human remains in connection to his daughter's body being found in a suitcase in 2018, the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office announced Friday.

During the course of the trial earlier this year, prosecutors said Te’Myah Layuana Plummer, born on May 19, 2016, died at some point in late summer 2017.

Prosecutors allege that her father concealed her body in a suitcase which he then brought to Jersey City on Nov. 1, 2017 and then kept in his garage for four months.
