NJ NJ - Lisa Schmidt, 23, Harrison, 2 Oct 1994

  • #41
This is my first attempt at websleuthing, but I saw this recent case and I've spent most of my time over the last 2 days on it. I think there's a possibility that this recently found Jane Doe in PA could be Lisa Ann Schmidt. It was just a skeleton, which make sense based on Lisa's timeline, but the sketch looks very similar to Lisa. I plan on contacting both the PA and NJ agencies tomorrow morning if others agree that it could be her. Let me know what you think.

Sketch vs Lisa - Look at the matching overbite teeth, larger bottom lip, thin nose with a similar shape, oval head shape, matching hair, etc.

Again, please let me know if you agree that it's potentially Lisa and that I should contact the agencies tomorrow. It would be amazing to have found something in a 20+ year old cold case, but I also want to make sure I'm not the only one that thinks it could be her. Thanks.
wow, this is such a close match i’m sctually surprised it was a rule out. good job belatedly

Lisa not only left behind a child, but 600 dollars in cash....I'm leaning towards foul play VS. leaving on her own accord.

Was the father of Lisa's son ever questioned?

She most likely had ash with her to go pay off the lay away. She must have told someone what her plans were. Robbery gone wrong?

I wish we had more information. Lisa had a young son, was the dad questioned? Did Lisa have problems with anyone in the neighborhood? How far did she have to walk to get to the Kmart? Was anyone along the route questioned..neighbors/businesses to see if anyone seen Lisa that day?

UP13134 was found in a trash can in Medford, NY on 12/7/1994 with one or more limbs not recovered, year of death 1994. White female aged 20-30 with brown hair 10”-12.5” in length and brown eyes with an estimated height and weight of 5’1” and 135 respectively. Double pierced ears, 4” oblique abdominal scar, well-healed right femur injury, tattoo of heart with the name Adrian on LUE, torn rim of a black sweater
Lisa went missing less than 70 miles away from Harrison, NJ on 10/2/1994 at age 23 with a height of 5’6”-5’9” and weight of 109-119 with long brown hair and brown eyes. Pierced ears and wearing blue jeans and black shirt. May have previously broken her leg (not known if L or R) Lisa is not listed as a rule out for this UID. She left behind a 3.5 year old son. I’m curious if his name, or the father’s name, was Adrian.

The only thing is..the above female (UID) is 5'1. Lisa is fairly tall at 5'6 to 5'8. Yes, it would be interesting to know if Lisa had a connection to the name Adrian, but there is no mention of having a tattoo.
Maybe submit (?) @beavt

Unfortunately, there is very little info given about Lisa's disappearance.
I wonder if her sons father was ever questioned or a POI?

Lisa went missing on a Sunday afternoon [2pm] while walking to Kmart. Im surprised no one saw her...
Could she have entered a car?
Lisa left 600 dollars and her young son behind.
Was she feuding with anyone? On good terms with sons father?

Trying to bump this case up a bit...
She was walking from her Harrison home to Kearny's K-Mart on Passaic Avenue. Surveillance videos showed Lisa never made it to K-Mart.
She walked? That'd take almost 3 hours, I'd say it'd be more logical for her to have drove there.
But if she did in fact walk, she could've been abducted anywhere between the destinations.

Here's my questions...
1. Do we know where she was last seen? and by who?
2. If she left at 14:00 (2:00 PM), considering the walking distance, she'd arrive at the store around 17:00 (5:00 PM).
3. How much evidence have the police released?

So far, she left for the store at 2:00 PM, and never made it to the store. If she walked, she'd have gone missing sometime within the 3 hours between her home and the store. I doubt she walked the 3 hours to get there, so i feel it'd be more logical that she'd have taken a subway, bus, or a combination of the two, as these forms of travel did exist in NJ during this time. This would ensure she wouldn't take too long away from home, while still allowing the possibility of an abduction

I think that this would lead to a possible timeline. So here's my theory...

She left her house at 2:00 PM to walk to the nearest bus stop, as a bus trip would take roughly 17 minutes. Depending on the distance between the bus stop near her house and the bus stop near the store, she would've been abducted while walking between bus stations, as there is no way she could be abducted while on the bus.

Unfortunately, at the moment I am unable to find any records of where the bus stops were located in 1994.
