TW: Namus has a post mortem photo: https://www.identifyus.org/en/cases/1507

Asian Male, 50-69 years old, recognizable face.
Found on Sept. 28, 1999 on the beach in Longport, Atlantic County, New Jersey.
Has dentals and fingerprints, DNA testing was insufficient for profiling.

In 2016 I submitted Xuan Cao ( https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/31587/21 ) as a possible match for this UID to Namus. Description, time frame, and distance work, and the UID was found wearing similar clothing. I followed up with Todd Matthews last year, as Pamela had told it me it was unlikely they would be able to get dental or fingerprint records due to Xuan being a foreign tourist. (The USCIS should have fingerprints on file... Just sayin'.) Unfortunately, nothing has come from this thus far and there are still no rule outs listed.

I found a reddit thread where someone else also found this match last year and probably submitted it as well.

What do you guys think about this one?

This UID has a quite unique dentals - there is a picture of his teeth amongst the PM pics on Namus. He is someone that never received the dental care he deserved.

I think these remains might belong to Jin Shin. I zoomed in on the pics to compare the facial lines around the mouths and noses. That comparison photo is hidden behind the spoiler below. Do y'all see what I see or are my eyes and brain playing tricks on me? I also noticed how it appears Jin's mustache doesn't grow all the way down to his upper lip similar to the way JD's mustache stops above his lip. And the noses appear similarly shaped as well, imo.

There are full facial photos on JD's NamUs profile. Be forewarned that the PM pics, especially the one @Melt71 mentioned in the post above, may be disturbing to some.

4295DMVA - Jin S Chin
Circumstances of Disappearance
Jin Chin left from Lynnhaven Inlet about 14.00 on what was to have been a three-hour fishing trip in coastal waters close to shore. He was reported missing by a neighbor after he failed to return as scheduled. Chin had gone out alone. His small boat was found offshore, its engine still running.

Chin 's boat, a 23-foot Robalo called the Formosa, was spotted about 40 miles east of Virginia Beach at 10 a.m. by the crew of a Coast Guard C-130 search aircraft from the Coast Guard air station at Elizabeth City.

The commercial fishing vessel Grumpy, which was nearby, was guided to the scene by the crew of the aircraft. When a crew member of the Grumpy went aboard the Formosa, he turned off the engine and secured the vessel.

There was no indication of what had happened to Chin , however. Fishing gear and other items were still in place, and there was no evidence that the boat might have overturned or been swamped. It was not clear how far the small boat may have traveled on its own without anyone at the wheel.

Chin had no known history of medical problems that might help explain his disappearance.

@YaYa_521 I think you are onto something. The comparison markers are all there. Are you going to submit.

TY for the feedback. I'm calling today to submit Mr. Chin as a possible match. I fear they're going to dismiss my call due to the circumstances surrounding his disappearance, the timeline and locations. I hope they at least look at the pics. ;) I'll keep you posted. Thanks again!
