MIDDLETOWN, NJ — As of Thursday morning, Middletown police and firefighters are still searching for a missing local woman. State Police are combing the area, including using a helicopter, but she still has not been found.

Middletown police, firefighters and New Jersey State Police searched Shadow Lake, the adjacent wooded areas and bordering waterways and the Navesink River into Wednesday night. Practice was even disrupted on the soccer fields at Middletown South Wednesday afternoon so State Police could land their helicopter.

I hope Mary can be found quickly. I looked up to find what kind of a living environment that Shadow Lake Village was:

Walked away from her home, in the middle of the night, in pajamas? Any mention of dementia/cognitive issues? This link states her medication is for mental illness (unspecified). Sadly I do not think this is going to end well :(

This news is very sad, but as Mary was missing for almost 2 weeks, without a vehicle, without her medications, and living right near waterways, it isn't unexpected.

Jeez, remind me to never vacation near this lake...it's not a very big lake, is it? I'm guessing it gets its water intake from Navesink River, and so anything that enters the 8 mile long river could travel all the way down until it gets trapped at the closed end, that being Shadow Lake.

There are a few open MP in that area of NJ, but most seen to be adolescents who voluntarily disappeared i.e. runaways. With respect to adults.... Marco Rodriguez was last seen 1.5 hr drive away. Anthony Dellomo was last seen a little under 2 hr drive away, but was on foot after a crash so I doubt it could be him. Ramon LeBron was last seen a 45 min drive away, and may be disoriented. Frank Benedetto was last seen just under a half hour drive away. Karen Hopson was last seen an hour drive away. There are more to mention but I was reaching into mid-2019 there.
**to note; there is a 69 y/o man listed as missing recently on NamUs near the river but when you look up his name, he has actually been found safe :) **

Thanks for looking that up bombardier. I wonder if the other body has been identified. I haven't found any news articles stating the identity.

MIDDLETOWN - The body found in Shadow Lake Thursday is that of 62-year-old Mary Silengo, who was missing since Sept. 22, police confirmed Monday.

An obituary for Silengo read, "[Silengo] passed away on October 1st after her lifelong struggle with mental illness."

For several days after receiving the missing person report regarding Selingo, police said they used tracking dogs, drones, boats, divers and a state police helicopter to search the Shadow Lake Village, which is a 138-acre age-restricted community, Shadow Lake and the Navesink River, according to a news release put out by police Monday.

But on Thursday it was two fishermen who "observed a body floating near the water’s edge on the south side of the lake" that discovered Silengo's body, police said.

“Obviously this is not the outcome we were hoping for," Middletown Police Chief Craig Weber said. "While we are saddened and disappointed by this development, we are hopeful that it provides a sense of closure for the family."

Hmm...I'm thinking that previous article was incorrectly worded, and there was only one body recovered. The articles only mention a body found on Oct 1st, spotted by the fishermen, and that's been identified as Mary.
