Fiesty Ru aka Shatara Carter was sentenced yesterday for her role in Muriah Huff's death. Muriah was beaten, stabbed, strangled and suffocated.

No one came to say goodbye to 14 year old Carter until her mother fresh out of jail for allegedly beating anoher daughter with an ashtray hurried into court.

"Mommy!" Carter sobbed as she cranned her neck to see her mother. "That's my mommy"

If Shatara's mother is beating her children with ashtrays, it might have a lot to do with why the girl turned out the way she did.

Good grief. Shatara's mother was at the house when this happened? She had these hoodlums hanging out at her house?? Never mind the bit about beating her kid with an ashtray.

The story says that when she protested they locked her in a bedroom, but, she may have helped with cleaning up afterward.

It's hard to understand this kind of crazy.

Growing up and living in Camden that's not crazy. That's survival. Of course not to say that every citizen in Camden has suffered being smacked in the head with an ashtray or has no concept of what is so demented it's only something other people see in a movie. However, it is rough in Camden.

You're right Ada. The ashtray is the least of the worries for the victims of course, but also the young people that decided to torture and murder them.

I used to work for DYFS and Camden was my "area" ......... scary as hell imo. I didn't last long, too great a need, too few resources, very dangerous, twisted kinda crazy.
