I thought the Jane Doe could have been Sheryl Ann Tillinghast who went missing from Dutchess County, New York on September 24th, 1973. The reason I ruled out Sheryl is because she is not Italian-American and the chin on both(2) sketches the chin is short and curved whereas Sherly's chin is more rounded. The eyebrows on the Jane Doe Sketch have more length than Sheryl's.

Does she have to be Italian to wear that necklace? It could have been a gift from an Italian friend or maybe she went to Italy...

Namus was updated this week but no additions to ruleouts, which is still the same list posted upthread in February 2023.

Ida Faye Basco, age 23, missing from Louisiana March 15 1979, bares quite a resemblance to the doe reconstruction regarding chin, eyes and mouth. Not many photos available of MP to compare further, and they can’t even verify if she is in fact missing, just that that was when she was last heard from. (Namus MP20364). Her partner is also missing. MP’s information seems to be coming from Louisiana State University FACES Laboratory, apart from that there doesn’t seem to be another source/any further information to potentially link her to doe, or to anything/anyone for that matter.

LSU’s lab have been able to rule out Ida Faye Basco as Doe via biometric information

Hmm..close resemblance in terms of the photos but ruled out. Basco is an italian or spanish surname.

Wendy Eaton maybe? Wendy had a shaggy pixie cut or short bob but the Jane Doe didn't have braces I don't think like the photos of Wendy do online. Wendy was deaf in one ear and wore contact lenses.

Has Sheryl Ann Tillinghast been officially ruled out as being this Jane Doe? I am just wondering. I know I said Sheryl's chin is more rounded where as the Jane Doe's chin is shorter and curved.

How many women wear pink dresses like this Jane Doe did? Usually women wear white, blue, or red dresses. Also of women have their Black Dress that they go to sometimes if they have to wear a dress out. She was also wore pink bikini panties. She might have been wearing pink pantyhose as well according to "The Doe Network Profile" of this Jane Doe. In my opinion this woman was very feminine or girly wearing pink like she did.

Jacqueline Lerman has been excluded as a match to this Jane Doe.

Maybe this Jane Doe was both Hispanic and Italian. Just an idea I am throwing out there.

What about Maria Florence Anjiras?
Based on the recon, the hair and facials might not match as well but circumstances, last name origins could be from Latino or Catholic influence, potentially Italian, and Ht/Wt match pretty close.

Here is a condensed version of her Charley Project details:

Maria was last seen at her home on Milwood Road in Norwalk, Connecticut on February 12, 1976. She was supposed to go to a vocal lesson in the afternoon, then babysit a neighbor's child that evening. Her father saw her at 2:15 p.m., while he was leaving for work.

Maria did not go to her lesson or her 5:00 p.m. babysitting job. After her disappearance, her blue English Racer bicycle was found abandoned near St. Mary's Lane, approximately one mile from her residence. The bike was found at the home of one of Maria's friends, but the girl said she hadn't seen or heard from her. There was no sign of her at the scene and she never returned home.

In August 1976, a fifteen-year-old classmate saw Maria at a bar on Westport Avenue and told her she should go home. Maria started crying and said, "I know." She was accompanied by a man who was a member of the Charter Oaks Motorcycle Club. Police identified the biker and traced him to the town of Bethel, Connecticut.

I believe I have found Maria’s family on Ancestry—very uncommon surname, with most results in Connecticut and Rhode Island, plus her father’s address is in some of the reports. Her paternal grandfather was Greek (immigrated from Karditsa), while her paternal grandmother was English (born in Harmston, Lincolnshire). Her mother was a US-born Nelson with no obvious Hispanic or Italian heritage, but it’s difficult to trace such a common name. May or may not play into whether or not she could be this Jane Doe.

So the Jane Doe maybe of Greek descent instead of italian descent or being hispanic origin.

If I had to roll the dice, I’d say she’s likely from NJ or maybe NY, with family that immigrated a generation or two before from southern Italy, based on the anthropological report (white or Hispanic—although NamUs currently only says white) and the cornicello necklace. Certainly a big population in those places that would fit that description.
Based on some of the physical description (race/age) and distance (~1h30m), it could be Mia Anjiras. The height discrepancy (Jane Doe was estimated at 5’2”-5’4”, while NamUs has Mia at 5’7”-5’9”, although other sites list her at 5’6”), does give me second thoughts, as does where she would have been in the 3 years between when she was last seen in Norwalk and when this Jane Doe was discovered, relatively recently deceased. The condition of her teeth suggests someone who had not had good dental care in some time, which could go either way. Doe says insufficient DNA for profiling, but I bet they could do better now.
