If that is a date on the bottom of the shoe then we are looking for someone who lost a leg from mid-2013 until when the shoe and skeletal bone was found in May 2017.

The Delaware River flows south, according to a net search.

If that is a date on the shoes then 18.06.13 would be 18 June written the English way Day/Month/Year. Namus also says it could read 8.06.13 which could then be August 6 or 8 June depending on the dating system. Or maybe it's just a serial number and not a date at all?

I mapped the 20 MPs from NJ in the period mid-2013 to May 2017 and none came from an area that was on the river.

Recovered Human Remains

On May 21, 2017 the Pohatcong Twp Police Departmentwere dispatched to the 300 block of River Road for a reported found sneaker with a foot located inside of the sneaker. The sneaker was found on the bank of the Delaware River and had been concealed in brush and debris. The sneaker was a woman’s size 7 Reebok sneaker that contained a gray colored crew sock and exposed lower leg bones. A search of the area proved to be negative for any other human remains. The Morris County Medical Examiner’s Office conducted an examination of the recovered foot/leg bones. The bones were then transferred to the New Jersey State Police Anthropology Unit.

Her NamUs page has been removed. Ramapo College IGG Center was working on her case, hopefully they have identified her. 🤞

[March 25, 2025] “Warren County Foot Jane Doe” has been successfully identified as Maria Quinones Garcia.

In 2017, a single foot inside a sock and shoe were found in the Delaware River in Pohatcong Township, New Jersey. Authorities identified the remains as belonging to a female, but were unable to determine her age or identify her using traditional methods of investigation.

The New Jersey State Police Cold Case Unit referred this case for investigative genetic genealogy at Ramapo College IGG Center in 2023, and in Spring of 2024 students in the IGG Certificate Program performed research in an effort to identify Warren County Foot Jane Doe.

The students’ extensive research led to the candidate Maria Quinones Garcia, who had gone missing from Allentown, Pennsylvania in 2014. Confirmatory DNA testing of Maria’s children provided a positive identification, providing answers to her loved ones after more than ten years.

More information about this case can be found here.

Wow, washed up a stone's throw from me. Wonder what happened. Unfortunately any cause of death will probably be impossible in this case.
