NJ NJ- Simran Simran, 24, Indian national, vanished after arriving in the US for an arranged marriage, 20 June 2025, *Doesn't speak English/no family*

I was wondering about that too. I've never met ANY Indians with the same first and last name... Or any non-Indians, for that matter (except maybe one whose married name was the same as her first, but that doesn't count). Her name does sound oddly similar to Sirhan Sirhan (who isn't Indian).
Simran tends to be a Punjabi and/or Sikh name.
Most female Sikhs take the surname Kaur, and most male Sikhs take the surname Singh.
Not all of course, but Kaur is definitely a good bet on a potential surname for her, especially so for an unmarried female.

MOO.

There are things that make me wonder.
First, it is whoever reported her missing that knew of the arranged marriage. Since noone can be contacted back in India, it must be someone in the US, presumably the family of the future husband or the husband to be himself.
Second, if she were to marry into her culture in the US, could well be that quite some money was sent to her for the trip and for necessities, for the dress etc.
Third, it is always the parents that organise the marriage, often when the kids are still teenagers but when they are adults as well. So her to be husband or his parents must have had a contact in India.
If so, LE cannot manage to contact them, could it be a scam on her side? To get the money and free access to the US.
Fourth, in the previous photo she was in Atlantic City. So she knows someone in the US.
One of the two pics, with the same dress as the one standing, is in a car.

Could anyone find her social media ?

I have no idea what the facts are in this specific case, but yes, men (and women) pay airfare for strangers to visit them. I have known multiple people who have done this and talked one man out of doing it. None of them were serious prospective marriages, more like hook ups. For some of them, it's a romantic, thrilling idea. These people didn't exactly have a lot of disposable income, either.
Damn !! For real ? I didn't know that people pay airfare for strangers, in spite of not having earning a hefty income is what confuses me... Like how ? If I have a decent disposable income, I would save up the money and travel the world, right ? :\

Don't believe everything you see on TV.
Getting a K1 spouse visa is difficult, costly and time consuming. Below is what I researched and posted earlier in the thread. (There is a link below to the official US immigration website detailing it all.)

The fiancé K1 visa to come to the US and marry can take up to 11 months to process, and involves much paperwork, and an in-person interview at a US embassy in the home country.
It can cost up to $2300.

The 2 people intending to marry must have met in person at least 2 years prior to the application for the visa.

If the visa is issued, the applicant has up to 90 days to get married.

The K1 visa theory has actually been posted here and I continued the convo from that post, not that I had seen on TV. But thank you for the info though.

It seems insane, but I've seen instances where people have been catfished out of lots of money. Plane tickets where the woman didn't show up, duped into buying a new washer and dryer, etc. Dating websites are fine, that's how I met my wife, but I wouldn't spend a dime on a woman without meeting first, just out of common sense.
Right ? Like how could anyone believe the other person enough to send money , flight tickets etc., just becoz they have been chatting with the other person for a while. Like.., where's the trust or guarantee that the other person wouldn't take advantage of you. If any stranger offers air fares or expensive gifts, to me, I would probably be of the assumptions that the intentions are bad or could even be a criminal activity - like organ trafficking etc.

JMO they were maybe in on the possible scam because I believe the groom does have to get permission from the bride's family and not sure if there's a financial element to it - they possibly just wanted to get their daughter to the U.S. Speculation only!
Another possible speculation in my opinion - maybe the girl did not have any parents and probably found a way to scam / dupe the groom-to-be by creating fake parents, and must've scammed / lured the groom-to-be to send her money ? Maybe the groom-to-be has sent in quite some money before and this is for them to be together finally at last?
If she did arrive on a Tourist visa and if the parents are in it , then why would they (the parents) take on the trouble of finding a fake potential partner, cuz any person knowing of her identity would only cause hurdles especially someone living in the US - cuz they can easily know the workings of the country and can go file a complaint with the police. If it was supposed to be a scam, they wouldn't have let anyone else know about her arrival, unless as mentioned in the previous para, the groom-to-be must've transferred a lot of cash or gifted other expensive things.

If I tap on the link in my post, it takes me to the LPD page, the post is there?
A little late to reply but this is what I get.

Ah, that explains why a brother and sister in my high school class had the surnames Kaur and Singh.

I might be wrong, but haven't those photos been provided by whoever reported her missing? They could easily be from a dating website IMO. They have been released to show what she looks like, not what she looked like when she vanished.

If she's been seen on surveillance footage, why not release that image?

If it's not clear enough to identify her, then how do they know it's her?

Maybe these photos were taken in the days prior to her being reported missing. But one of them looks like a selfie. How would the person reporting her missing have access to a selfie unless she sent it to them? Since she has her own phone, presumably. And why would she send it to them if they were together?

So many questions!

Exactly! And I was a skeptic even before being a member here. Now I'm even more so after all the cases/stories we see here. It always amazes me how people can fall for some of the stories they do.

The photos probably weren't from a dating website because they were taken on the same day (she's wearing the same clothes in both) shortly after she got to the US.

What's weird is she obviously went to Atlantic City BEFORE she was last seen in Lindenwold... If what the police said is true. They said she was wearing grey sweatpants and a white T-shirt the last time she was seen on surveillance (those aren't surveillance photos, either). So she flew to the US... Probably Philly, but possibly Newark or JFK... then went all the way to AC, then turned around and went back to Lindenwold. So not knowing English obviously hasn't been a crutch when it comes to getting around. She's no dummy.
