NJ NJ - Sofia Perez, 14 years old, missing from Elizabeth, Union County, last seen in Broadway Avenue, January 31 2026

I noticed that too.

The only explanation in my opinion could be that they know more than they reveal.

But why? Wrong number? What is this address? Houses? Restaurants?

In my opinion too police rarely reveal everything to protect the investigation.

Do you think the family is afraid of ICE? They reported her missing, after all.

So many questions... no answers, no updates... 😔😥🥺💔

There are houses there! Maybe she lives there?

Maybe that's why they wanted to hide it? For the investigation? 🤔

Good questions! I'm definitely curious to know why they redacted the address.

I can see a CCTV camera at that address as well as outside the restaurant next door (from 2024 Google Street View).

Across the street, the property appears to be entirely fenced off (based on historic footage) all the way down to the NJ turnpike. If she were heading southeast, her path options would be limited. To the northwest, there are more options, but why, then, wouldn't she have been spotted on other cameras?

Either they weren't able to gather more footage, or they know a lot more than they've publicly released.

I don't know about the ICE angle, but sadly, it's possible.

Is it possible for the feds to manipulate the cameras in areas where ICE is patroling?

It wouldn't be legal to do, but, well, the law doesn't seem to apply to ICE.

That being said, I have not seen any proven reports that they've jammed WiFi like that. Yet.

I hope they know more than they are revealing. 🙏
Fortunately, the police have access to cameras and they seem to be patrolling the streets despite the frost.

It's interesting what you write about Elizabeth street. Could you write something more detailed? For example, what would happen if she went in the opposite direction to the highway?

I can't see it in its entirety and precisely because I'm from Europe and I have limited access.

Walking the opposite way on Broadway would take Sofia toward a block of condos and housing with angled street parking in the boulevard. The general area is a mix of housing, restaurants, and other businesses. She could be anywhere.

Broadway Street is basically several streets, bisected by a highway. It’s by no means contiguous.

Here’s something kind of interesting. Below is a screenshot of Elizabeth NJ Police’s Instagram post. It looks to me like there may have been a street address that was redacted. What do you think?

EDIT: you can find previous versions of the flyer with the address 456 Broadway. Not sure why they removed that from the current flyer, but it’s public info now.
It must be their residence

Per @cityofelizabeth Instagram -

January 26 - all schools closed
January 27 - late start for Elizabeth Public Schools
January 28 - Most NJ Transit lines are operating normal schedule

Snow clearing has been a slow process. They've been posting the streets they are clearing, some even this weekend. None of the listed streets directly lead to [that address on Broadway].

January 31 was a Saturday. So school should not have been in session.

Missing persons cases often have very little information and it's kind of frustrating. Did she have a phone? Any contacts? A common scenario I often see is that the MP is in contact with someone and the family tries to stop/end it, and so MP is lured out or tries to run away. Are there any friends or places she might be at?
