A Hillsborough man accused of sexually assaulting and killing a female co-worker before setting fire to her townhouse was not involved in a sexual relationship with her, Somerset County Prosecutor Geoffrey D. Soriano said Friday in a release.
Juan Jimenez-Olivera, 29, of Hamilton Road was indicted Wednesday in the death of Sviatlana Dranko, 30, on April 29, 2014, Soriano said. Jimenez-Olivera has been charged with murder, aggravated sexual assault, aggravated arson, disturbing, desecrating human remains, hindering apprehension or prosecution, and tampering with physical evidence...
Jimenez-Olivera remains lodged in the Somerset County Jail in lieu of a $1 million cash bail set by Judge Julie M. Marino.

The man accused of killing a co-worker in her Hillsborough home admitted he strangled her to death, according to an affidavit filed with the Somerset Court court.
Juan Jimenez-Olivera, 29, of Hillsborough told police he strangled 30-year-old Sviatlana Dranko and then started a blaze at her home by lighting a bedsheet and the couch on fire... Jimenez-Olivera provided details of the crime that were consistent with Dranko's injuries and evidence at the scene of her burnt home...
Jimenez-Olivera and Dranko worked together at a pizzeria.
