Thank you! I was racking my brain trying to remember something that happened years ago that made me think this guy was a creep. Nothing else I saw mentioned any charges or accusations from years ago other than the 16 year old girl so I started thinking I was imagining it. But I distinctly remember his doughy pale face and associating it with being super creepy.
Same.

I haven't followed his career but have found him creepy and wondered what MG saw in him.

That's the best, most accurate description--doughy pale super creepy. YES! jmo

He always PUT ME OFF, could not abide. I didn't know about his past either, just, as you say!! Furious about the 'therapist' father of the 16 yr. old girl, letting him with 'therapy'. It does not work for sexual predators of children. IMO
A therapist should know this!!!!!!!!!!!

I honestly had no idea they were married until this came to light. I was super disappointed with her when I read that. Like most women my age, we grew up watching that show and loved it.

I find Swift incredible. JMO Sounds like the therapist, who had a mandated duty to report the alleged abuse of his teen daughter, made a successful money grab instead and now, years later is piggy backing on the newer allegations.

It would appear to be the case.

I do have a problem with the fact the report was made by a doctor who saw the boys only AFTER the parents saw an attorney first.
What doctor and with what area of practice?

There are trained forensic therapists who LE/CPS uses to question children about being groomed/SA.

Who else interviewed the boys and when?

The doctor/hospital called LE in Nov 2024 so why the delay in arresting Busfield?

The timeline, who interviewed the boys and when could cause issues for the prosecution.
imo

The arrest warrant located here Arrest warrant accuses Timothy Busfield of child sex crimes answers all those questions, and much more.

I just read the book by Melissa Gilbert, with a foreword by Timothy Busfield, "Back to the Prairie". And I try to reconcile the story of domestic bliss, with this bombshell.

There is such a dichotomy. The book is autobiographical, about Melissa, and tangentially, her blissful happiness with Timothy.

It would be interesting to read a codicil, supplement to this book, with the craziness these accusations and subsequent arrest/trial, will add to the story, or change the story.

From today's Guardian: 'A statement that a representative for Gilbert, known best for her work on Little House on the Prairie, shared with media outlets said she “supports her husband” and was keeping “her focus … on supporting and caring for their … family, as they navigate this moment”.'

<modsnip: not victim friendly>

Timothy Busfield reminds me so much of his character "Elliott" in "Thirtysomething".. and that was how many years ago? 40?

"Elliott" was pretty much a loser in the show, always "2nd best" to "Michael".

I seriously can't believe that show was almost 40 years ago!

Timothy Busfield filed key documents for his defense after being formally charged in a child sex abuse case...sharing a list of potential witnesses that included his wife, Melissa Gilbert. ...

In addition to Gilbert, Busfield’s legal team named a number of “The Cleaning Lady” cast and crew....

Busfield also provided results from a polygraph test, in which he was found to be “truthful” after denying inappropriately touching an alleged victim. Additionally, he submitted 75 letters from colleagues, friends and family members, all attesting to his character and professionalism.

Gilbert was among those who submitted a letter, writing “I will never be able to express the depth of gratitude I have to God for bringing this wonderful human into our lives.”...

“My husband, like my father, is former military, and that training only enhanced for him what he values most; honor, integrity, compassion and care for his fellow human beings.”

As she went on, she told the judge that this was “the strangest letter” she’s ever had to write. “I am trying to tow a line between logic and all the feelings swirling through me,” Gilbert noted. “I began this letter with logic, but now the feelings have taken over. I can’t help it. I only want this extraordinary man safe and whole.”

Shows how old and out of touch in the TV/ Entertainment world, hadn’t thought of him relevant since the Thirtysomething series ended, now it’s ewwww 1/2 pint married him!?!

I'm not at all surprised his wife is defending and supporting him at this time.
I do think we're watching in real time, sadly, just how many victims (aside from the primary ones) this vile crime leaves in it's wake.
Assuming of course he's guilty so I'll have to say alleged, I guess.
