Donna Gail Harris, Date of Last ContactApril 5, 1991. Not good with faces, similar hair.

Beatrice Bailey Coleman, nicknamed "Bea". Could be confused with Becca?

Brenda Louise Condon.

It seems like a murder. Suicide by suitcase strap seems very impromptu.
Unsure if needles(she had heroin in her system) were ever found plus that Cryptic red herring to mislead police in the notebook. She is believed to die the same day she arrived at the hotel. Eduardo's family was questioned years later and told police he wasn't the person in the photograph. Maybe they covered for him. Doorlock was tamptered with. Locked from the inside, a person working at the motel had to use a screwdriver to get in.

All the windows were locked from the inside as well as the door. Had anyone else been in that room with her when she died, they'd still be locked in there. That and the lack of any defensive wounds or signs of even the slightest struggle recorded in the autopsy report makes me doubt any foul play was involved. No needles found AFAIK, but it's thought there were multiple people in that room at some point before she took her life, so maybe she shot up with them and they took the needles when they left.

She could have also snorted it or smoked it.

***NEW LEAD IN 1991 JANE DOE COLD CASE***
Based on a recent tip, it is believed Jane Doe's true name is "Becca" or "Rebecca" and she is from the Los Angeles County area (possibly Reseda or Sylmar, CA). It is believed she flew from California to New Mexico prior to her death. Please help us track down any family or friends that may have known her by sharing this post, especially in the Los Angeles area. A picture found of "Becca" and the clothing she was wearing at the time of her death has been included.
"Becca" was found deceased in a hotel room in Albuquerque, New Mexico on 06/05/1991 with no identification. She was found wearing a “Trends” brand multicolored (white/pink/red/yellow) tank top; size 31 “Guess Product” by “George Marciano” white denim pants; 3-inch silver loop earrings; and a wide metal bracelet. A dark-colored purse and suitcase with women’s clothing were also found in the room.

If anyone has any information, please email me at [email protected] or contact me via phone at (817) 240-4106.
Please help us bring her home.

That's very possible. I remember reading the coroner's report someone posted in one of the earlier comments, the ME didn't mention any noticeable track marks or puncture wounds so the decedent probably didn't main line/skin pop/muscle it. I always thought shooting up was the most common method. Maybe she was afraid of needles and didn't want to catch the HIV or hep?? Whatever way was used it somehow got into her system.

I know some heroin users think (mistakenly) that smoking or snorting it is safer than injection, so it's possible that she thought so too. Or maybe she didn't use it much and thought smoking/snorting it was less intimidating than injecting?

I conjectured this, maybe I could be way off: Maybe it was her first time using and "they" (the people/person in the room with her) gave her too much and her body couldn't handle it? Or maybe what they had at that time was purer than what they were used to and she OD'd? Maybe she was the only one that snorted/smoked and others mainlined? Maybe all 3 situations? Quite possibly if this did happen maybe they had a CYA moment and cleared out and took their "rigs/work/outfit" but accidentally left the scale there in the rush to leave?? Also I tried reading the police report another used posted earlier in the thread but it was very hard to decipher (looked like photocopies/scans of carbon copies) and didn't see anything in the report about them finding any prints that could be traced back to anyone. Maybe the room was wiped down? All in all a depressing case full of conjecture, what ifs and endless possibles.

(Snipped for brevity)

If she overdosed they would've definitely been able to tell, so I don't think that was what happened unless they decided to leave that out of the NamUs page info, for whatever reason. But she definitely could have had others there that left after the fact. imo

Hi all, I have been active on WebSleuths for a while but this is my first time suggesting a missing person as a potential match so hopefully I’m doing it right! Please do correct me if I’ve left anything out, and apologies if the below has been suggested here previously.

I have gone through Namus to try to look into the Becca / California lead as mentioned above, but have had no luck.

The National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs)

I then came across Desiree Lenahan who has been missing since April 1989 from Maryland; her weight and height roughly match that of our Jane Doe. Her natural hair colour is auburn but had been dyed to a honey blonde a week prior to her disappearance. I have always thought that in the photo of Jane Doe that was found at the scene, her hair does look auburn in colour so this could be her natural hair possibly? There is very little information about Desiree’s disappearance on her Namus page, just that she failed to show up to work.

However there is a discrepancy in eye colour - Desiree’s are listed as blue and Jane Doe’s as hazel / grey. There is also vehicle information listed for Desiree; a beige 1985 Hyundai Excel.

What do you think?

@luulabobss
Well I just read Desiree's Websleuths thread, and my initial speculation is that she did not actually willingly leave to start a new life, but that someone wanted people to think she did. However I could, of course, be wrong.
MD - MD - Desiree Lenahan, 30, Germantown, 24 April 1989

Thank you for this! :)

I hadn’t seen the information about the note to her boyfriend telling him that she was leaving. Very curious as to whether she did leave of her own accord or not.

Agree. I'll dial back my earlier comment and say my initial speculation has been wrong before, but it's interesting if her car never turned up and she's never been located.

Exactly. I am wondering if she is worth submitting as she is not on the rule-out list.

I agree with Triss. When in doubt, submit.

Thank you and @Triss. I am from the UK so not sure if I am able to submit - is there an email address to send it to or is there a specific process? Any advice on how to do it is greatly appreciated :D

I have never submitted a case before, but if I wanted to submit by email, I would go to the NamUs case for the Unidentified victim and click on the symbol that looks like 2 speech bubbles, and there's usually a NamUs contact and email listed there.
In the email to that person, I'd include both NamUs case numbers and briefly explain what matches between the two cases.
Then if I received a response that they would review it, I would trust that, but if I didn't receive a response, I'd assume it might not have been received.
If you do submit, please come back here and update :D.

I know sometimes people submit to case contacts on the Doe Network too...

Thank you for this. I have seen that Jane Doe’s contact on NamUs is Dustin Driscoll, who was mentioned a bit further up in a post by @Romulus. I have emailed him with information outlining similarities between Jane Doe and Desiree, so of course I will keep you all updated if I hear anything back. Once again, thank you so much for your guidance through the process :)
