City workers had been cleaning out a culvert, when they came across the remains that had been caught in the metal grate. Some clothing was with the remains.

Although there is limited information available for both Debra and the unidentified subject of this thread, the similarities are notable. Consistent age, sex, ethnicity, location, and approximate timeline. Debra was last seen 29 April 1997. Remains were found in the same county 14 October 1997, with the estimate of death being months prior. I do not know what Debra was wearing when she went missing. I have not seen this possible match ruled out.

NAMUS map pins don't seem to match the location where remains are found. You won't find a "culvert" in the area indicated.

Really good restaurants, a couple historic theaters, Maisel's Indian Trading Post, sure, and that map pin is on Route 66! Culvert, nope.

My family lives in New Mexico, I'd like to know more about where these remains were found.
