I think he is on the shorter side but looks shorter because the FBI guys are on the curb and he isn't. I think you are onto something though!

Unless the officers are all 6'5 or something... He does appear very short

I would imagine they are awaiting forensic evidence. He says he did not rape her. Even if he had admitted raping her they would probably wait for evidence.

IMO - with what I've read at this site lately, that wasn't such a tough read. Not brutal or explicit at all.

Agree. Someone else in the thread mentioned Jessica Ridgeway. That's the one you don't want to be reading about if you're alone in the house.

Don't get me wrong--all murders are horrific. But there is very little detail in that article, it's just sad.

Thanks for the link. I know he assaulted her. He is saying he didn't "rape" her in the complaint where he confessed. He is a worthless being.

So, his confession of taking both kids down the road and taking her behind the hill is probably why they did not issue an Amber Alert. Her brother knew she was not in the car. The monster came out of the desert without her.

The Latest: Deputies Couldn't Detain Suspect in Girl's Death

Sheriff's deputies in northwestern New Mexico had stopped a man charged in the kidnapping and death of a Navajo girl hours before he was arrested Tuesday.

But San Juan County sheriff's Lt. Kyle Lincoln says the deputies didn't detain Tom Begaye Jr. because he didn't completely fit the description of the suspect. Authorities had said the kidnapper had a teardrop tattoo under his left eye and two earrings, but Begaye had neither.

Lincoln says Begaye's van also wasn't a true match of the description.

Lincoln says Begaye let deputies search his van at a gas station in Farmington around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, but they didn't find anything suspicious.

Begaye was arrested later Tuesday in the death of 11-year-old Ashlynne Mike. He made his first appearance Wednesday before a federal magistrate in Farmington.
