ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. —Bernalillo County detectives raided a South Valley home early Thursday morning and found more than 18,000 sexually explicit pictures and videos of children.

A 28-year-old man lives in the home. Michael Apodaca, 28, was arrested and taken into BCSO custody.

"It's not what you think," Apodaca said to Action 7 News as he was being arrested. "It's not as big as it seems, it's just some stupid stuff. It's something I'm very ashamed of, but it's not as big as it is."

Apodaca admitted to downloading child for over a year, but that it all was by accident.
