I have tried posting, and I'm not sure why I am not able to..

But yes, she is still missing. The Tribal Counsel in Acoma has to give permission to do a full search on their entire land, and this has not happened. Denise has been missing for two weeks now. Foot prints were found near her car, perhaps leading to a mesa, and not necessarily one of the villages. She would have been likely looking for a place to hike, if anything. Not to find people to be with. If anyone knows someone on this large (594.996 sq mi) land, please have them keep a look-out. Flyers should be going around, but we need people who don't mind walking around to a place where someone who doesn't know the area could easily fall or get hurt.

Many thanks for all of the wonderful people of the Acoma Pueblo who have contacted us on social media, to give prayers, and to say they're looking out and sharing the flyers. You could be the key to bringing this woman home to her family.

Denise has suffered from MS, and in the recent year began experiencing a form of amnesia, and paranoia. As a result, she becomes frightened, disoriented and believes she has to run, or flee to safety from where ever she is. Denise is highly vulnerable and incapable of insuring her own safety. She has fled from home several times this year, resulting in being rescued, picked up by police and hospitalized when she’s been found dehydrated, disoriented and suffering from amnesia.

I am so sorry- how very frightening. I am wondering, with these medical issues, why is she allowed to drive a car?

Does she have a cell phone? If she does, was it found? How about her purse or keys?

You mentioned foot prints by her vehicle- did they end there? Or was there more leading elsewhere? Did she discard any of her personal items around there?

Denise recently renewed her license herself, with seemingly no issue. She has refused medical help, though family has tried to take her in to see a specialist. She has been "with it" enough to fight them on that.

Her cell phone, from what I was just told, is the only thing missing with her. Her purse with all of her money and ID were found in the car. The tow truck driver stated that all of her belongings were in the back, covered up with a blanket. No blood was found, the car was parked on the side of the road, and locked up. I'm guessing she would have her keys with her, as she usually kept them around her neck to avoid someone taking them from her.

The footprints appear to go off towards a mesa, from what I hear. Not a lot of prints, but enough to have local police search a bit. I don't know if they found anything or any sign of the direction she could have gone in beyond the foot prints.

Thank you for the bump.

No, she has still not been located. All signs point to her being there on the reservation, but gaining access is really the thing slowing down a search and rescue. Only localized searches have been done- Acoma residents are reporting this is happening. (They've seen helicopters, etc). A more extensive search must be granted.

As of 11/28/2018 The Acoma Police say N.M. State Police denied needed funding for comprehensive search efforts. In contrast N.M. State police says they agreed to provide funding/resources, and that it's Acoma that has not approved search efforts on their land. (Acoma says they have given permission).

There are two cliffs, per local officer with NMSP, near where Denise's car was found. Obviously even a localized helicopter search has not resulted in finding anything. This could be because the color of her clothing was possibly "neutral", or because she fell into a crevasse. Also, while the family would like heat-seeking equipment, it's possible they would not be able to spot her if she's there (and not alive). As well, NMSP claims only to have a drug-sniffing dog, and not human scent trackers. (If TXEQ can provide the dogs, that would be wonderful. However, I believe even they need permission to go onto the land).

Regardless, to date, no permission for a full search seems to have been granted. By this point, at three weeks out, the chances of finding Denise alive are growing less likely. She would have called home by now, were she able to. It also seems likely that if she were in someone's house there in Acoma, that person (or persons) would have either reported her to local law enforcement, or someone else that this person knows would have said something. Given her likely condition had she wandered to a home in distress (injured, disoriented, etc), the family has faith in the kindness of the people in Acoma, to either care for her until she could be moved to get help, or they would have called the local police.

I am new to this platform, can anyone tell me how I get alerts when something is posted about DCP?? Thank you!

Denise has been missing in New Mexico for nearly five weeks. Family is still waiting for NMSP to do an extensive search on the reservation, with dogs, drones, whatever is available. The tribal council claims they have given the permission to do so, but N.M. says otherwise. Only searches near where the car was found have been done.

The FBI has told the family that they cannot step in without evidence of a crime. No blood was found around the car, and it does not appear that any of Denise's belongings were taken. However, police did not check for fingerprints. As well, since the tow truck driver moved the seat, they cannot say definitively that Denise is the person who parked her car there. It is not clear if police have checked for cell phone pings, for when Denise's phone was last turned on. It would appear that her phone has been dead since she was discovered to be missing. (There is also a discrepancy between the Acoma and the local Casino security, regarding where her car was found- but an officer from the NMSP reports that where Acoma police parked their cruisers is the same location where the two truck driver - and neighbors - say the car was).

NMSP says they have the resources to do the search, and Texas Eqqusearch has expressed an interest in searching- but they have not received any OK from Acoma.
As of this writing, the family is still waiting permission from the Tribal council. The Acoma say N.M. State Police denied needed funding for comprehensive search efforts. In contrast N.M. State police say they agreed to provide funding and Acoma have not approved search efforts on their land. The Los Angeles Police Department of course has their hands tied. (Of course with this much time having passed, expectations are not good. However, leaving a body out in the desert is not optimal, either. A recovery mission would be appreciated).

Please keep getting the word out. Thank you. (We are hoping that the people on the Pueblo will continue to look out for Denise. If you know of residents out in the "boonies" who may not have heard from town that Denise is a missing person, and she is there with them, please go check in on these people. Ask if they've seen her).
