Global alert issued for escapees

By Jill Dunn

Interpol has issued a worldwide alert for a prison escapee and his accomplice who, authorities say, are former truckers who may frequent truck stops and rest areas.

On Aug. 12, U.S. Marshals said they were continuing investigations in western Arkansas and Montana and other U.S. locations. John Charles McCluskey, 45, and accomplice Casslyn Welch, 44, remain at large following McCluskey’s escape from an Arizona prison. A $40,000 reward has been offered for information resulting in their capture.

They said the two are “experienced over the road semi-truck drivers” who have been known to “utilize full service truck stops, rest areas and camp grounds and may continue to frequent facilities such as these.”

I think that their best shot is Mexico, but I think the are arrogant so it won't occur to them that it is their best shot of outrunning all of the media on them here in the US.

They must be getting help....at least someone to go out and get supplies. Hope they aren't holding anyone captive to assure this!!

Prison chief says state didn't detect prison flaws
McCluskey, whose experience includes a 14-year stay in a Pennsylvania prison before he was sentenced to prison in Arizona in 2009, does not have the financial wherewithal to stay on the loose without committing crimes, Gonzales said.
With that in mind, investigators are receiving tips from around the country on such crimes as auto thefts, burglary and armed robbery.
McCluskey was affiliated with a White supremacist prison gang during his time in Arizona custody, and authorities say Welch told detectives she was smuggling drugs for the same gang when she was arrested in June and accused of attempting to smuggle drugs into McCluskey's prison

In the old days, law enforcement had wanted posters. Now fugitives can have their mugs turn up on digital billboards.

Me too! This way folks can at least get some good camping fun in before labor day. It was kind of freaky wondering whether you would run into trouble unaware they were lurking.:waitasec:

Another article regarding them being caught!

http://www.foxnews.com/us/2010/08/19/arizona-fugitives-john-mccluskey-casslyn-welch-caught/

According to the Apache County Sheriff's Office, a member of the public called 911 after spotting a couple matching their description at a campground on the edge of the Apache National Forest, 15 miles from the New Mexico state line.

The couple, who likened themselves to a modern day version of Bonnie and Clyde, were arrested without incident and will face a number of charges.

Soooo glad they've been caught!

I am cheesed that they are ''implicated in murder''.

If they had gone to Mexico that would have given me cause for laughter but right now -- I am just glad they were caught and hopefully justice will be served.

I kept wondering why they would beat it out of AZ when there are too many hiding places. So glad they were caught. Yeah Forest Rangers! You rock. He would have gone out in a blaze of glory if he had his gun.
