UNSOLVED NM - Grant Co., Human Remains, in Mimbres River off Hwy 61, Nov'14

Human remains were found in the Mimbres Valley River area near Highway 61 Thursday, according to the Grant County Sheriff's Office. The remains have been sent to the Office of the Medical Investigator, where medical records will be checked to identify the body, according to Grant County Sheriff's Lt. Fermin Lopez.

A rancher in the Mimbres Valley River area near Hwy. 61 called the Grant County Sheriff's Office about 4:40 p.m. Thursday to report what appeared to be human remains in the river bed, the report states.
