Gregory Romero was last seen on Saturday June 3, 2017 riding his bicycle from south Coors to Isleta Casino. He has not been heard from since.

Romero is described as a 46 year old Hispanic male with brown eyes and brown hair, 5 feet 10 inches tall and around 180 pounds.

He has several tattoos, including a Virgin Mary on the lower right arm, Praying hands on the left hand, the names “Dominique” on upper left and right arm, and “Ashley” on the upper left and right arm.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – An Albuquerque family is desperate for answers as its get ready to say goodbye to one of its own, nearly half a year after he went missing.

46-year-old Gregory Romero disappeared on June 3rd as he was biking to Isleta Casino, located just a short distance from his family’s home in the South Valley.

A month later his body was recovered in the Rio Grande; family members say he was brutally murdered on the Isleta Pueblo. So brutal, in fact, that Romero had to be identified using his dental records.

Meanwhile, the family is now finally getting his remains back for a proper burial.

“His family found my brother in the river while they were riding their horses,” said Denise Walker, Romero’s sister.

“He was struck on the back of the head in a very disturbing way,” Walker added. “He was murdered.”

But Walker, a former police officer in Los Lunas, said he also had a high-risk lifestyle. He had some problems himself, including several run-ins with law enforcement, alleged property crime and some substance abuse.

His family said he might have been attacked on his way home from the casino in June. So they are asking anyone who may have information to contact the Isleta Police Department at 505-869-9704.
