Ingrid may have been sighted!
I think it not likely that she was kidnapped and that the male was letting her walk around on her own, in the same state, not that far from the area she is missing from, having contact with the reporting person and other campers. Ingrid's family doesn't seem convinced that this is a verified contact with her and is advising that LE is investigating the claim. MOO

Unless she wasn't kidnapped and is trying to hide? Sometimes I wonder about a potential connection at the meditation center. She purchased a burner phone before this trip and the state of her car was very suspicious. Especially her husband proposing that she broke her own window! Where did that come from? Perhaps she is trying to start a new life with someone else? Personal speculation. Above all else I hope she is safe

Wow @Protectwomenandgirls. That came out of nowhere!! I don’t have facebook so continue to hope for the best for Ms Lane. Thanks for the update.
Wow this was a surprising update. Good news if true, but jeeze - just tell your husband the marriage is over and be done with it. The burner phone to me indicates she’s not been kidnapped.

I agree, the burner phone makes it seemed like she had a plan. Hoping she's safe somewhere

I do hope she's okay, but it's hard to imagine that she would voluntarily remain incommunicado from her mother and twin sister for this long. They seem quite close.

So she's not missing anymore? Is this official?

She's still missing. There was a potential sighting that was never confirmed

Police need your help after receiving unconfirmed reports of people seeing an Albuquerque woman who suddenly went missing over a year ago.

But the Albuquerque Police Department on Thursday issued a news release asking for new attention on her case, noting several reports that alleged Lane had been seen since then in Southeast Albuquerque. Those “unconfirmed sightings” put Lane at Wilson Park, Damacio’s Grocery and Liquor Store and around two apartment complexes nearby, the release said.

It's interesting that police are acknowledging the “unconfirmed sightings”. Maybe they have more information. IMO

Praying this is Ingrid! Based on the details of her disappearance, IMO, she may have been experiencing a mental health crisis, which could have led to her getting disoriented & potentially lost. Albuquerque isn't far from where she went missing!

This would make sense of what otherwise made no sense at all. Question is: how did she get down the mountain the night of her accident?

If I recall correctly, there's no actual evidence that she climbed the mountain trail that she downloaded to her AllTrails account. Her damaged car was found on a forest road that was quite a distance away from the trailhead, and she was last seen a mile from her car in the opposite direction from the mountain.

If these reports are true, it's possible that she got a ride from a passing motorist.

Edit - Here's the map I posted back when Ingrid originally went missing. Her car's location is circled in red and the trailhead is indicated by the blue dot. It would be a 10-15 mile walk between the two.

Details of Disappearance

Lane was last seen at the Bodhi Manda Zen Center, a Buddhist retreat in Jemez Springs, New Mexico, on October 15, 2023. She had left her home in Albuquerque, New Mexico early that morning to go visit the retreat. Three days later, Lane still had not returned home, so her husband reported her missing.

Her family believes she may have gone for a solo hike in the Jemez Mountains on the day of her disappearance. She has never been heard from again.

Her husband was able to locate her vehicle, a black four-door 2019 Subaru Impreza with New Mexico license plate number RFA355, using an Apple airtag. It was on Forest Road 144, a remote dirt road between Jemez Springs and Los Alamos, at 9,100 feet in elevation and out of cellular phone range. The rear window was smashed. Witnesses reported seeing Lane near the car at that location on the day of her disappearance.

Extensive searches have turned up no evidence as to her whereabouts. Although there were possible sightings of her in Albuquerque after her disappearance, her mother believes she may have gotten lost or injured in the mountains and died. A person with impaired lung function, such as Lane has, would be vulnerable at higher elevations. Her case remains unsolved. Albuquerque police are investigating.
