Silver Alert issued for woman last seen in Sierra County

Janet Lorraine Mimovich, 88, was last seen on January 24 around 6:30 p.m. at the Sierra Del Rio Golf Course in Elephant Butte, N.M.

• She is Caucasian, 5'5" tall, 135 lbs, with blonde hair and green eyes.
• She was last seen wearing jeans and carrying a pink purse.
• Mimovich is believed to be driving a 2012 silver Mercedes SUV with New Mexico license plate WAKJ89.

Anyone with any information regarding her whereabouts is asked to call the Sierra County Sheriff’s Office at (575) 894-7111 or 911.

Silver Alert issued for 88-year-old woman last seen in Elephant Butte, NM

Mimovich is described as a white woman standing 5-feet-8-inches tall, weighing 135 pounds and having blonde hair and green eyes.

Mimovich is believed to be in danger if not located, according to the Sierra County Sheriff’s Office.

The Sierra County Sheriff’s Department received the call Friday night after Mimovich’s son arrived home and learned his mother had not returned from a routine outing to Sierra Del Rio that night

Due to Mimovich’s dementia, Albuquerque Police and officers in the Denver-Pueblo, Colorado area have also been contacted in case she attempted to return to familiar areas from her past. Still nothing.

Police were able to use tracking measures on her phone and verified no one was following her as she left the golf course, potentially becoming disoriented and unable to find her way to her Elephant Butte home. Police know that she did drive past the turn to her home, made it to Monticello Point, turned around and drove back to Rock Canyon before turning around again. The tracking went off near the Monticello RV park. “She has not turned her phone back on since it lost signal around 7 p.m. Friday night. But, according to her family, she was terrible about charging her phone.

Janet is still missing. Her son, DS, posts about her missing on his personal FB page. It is very sad that she hasn't been found yet.

A person and her car go missing, you'd think they would have searched any bodies of water within a reasonable distance of the area in which she went missing, at the time she went missing.

She had been tracked by her phone to be disoriented enough to drive past the turn to her home, did that twice if I am reading the post above correctly.
