The charred body found west of Rio Rancho Saturday afternoon has been identified as 65-year-old Marilyn Rose Gandert of Albuquerque, according to an Albuquerque Police Department spokesman.

Officer Simon Drobik said Gandert was reported missing from Northwest Albuquerque on Sunday.

The 65-year-old woman whose body was dumped on the mesa and set on fire was a mail carrier who lived in Albuquerque, where police believe she was murdered...

As of now, APD is still looking for Gandert’s killer and a motive for the murder. They haven’t released any information about any potential suspects.

Online court records show Gandert does not have any criminal history. Police did say they are executing search warrants around Albuquerque looking for evidence.

On 4 October 2019 21-year-old Drake Bickett was sentenced to 25 years in prison for the killing his grandmother Marilyn Gandert.

On 23 July 2019 44-year-old Alissa Bickett (mother of Drake and daughter-in-law of Marilyn) was sentenced to 30 years in prison.

On 17 June 2019 29-year-old Annie Rael (a friend and roommate of Alissa Bickett) was sentenced to 12 years in prison for her part in the murder of Marilyn Gandert.

The reason for the murder was that Marilyn Gandert had evicted the trio from her home a few days earlier for not paying rent.
