Not many people live in Quay County -- found a report of 3 people per square mile.

Counties in New Mexico are large, some the size of New England states.

Wonder what was on those folded yellow papers....

JMHO YMMV

Yeah, Quay County is one of the least populated counties in New Mexico - that's one of the reasons I stumbled upon this case, as I was looking through some more sparsely populated counties in the West on NamUs. But that's besides the point...

I can't find much info on this case. I tried searching newspaper archives for records of this case and can't find too much, so I don't have any more information on those yellow papers, though I'm curious as well myself.

I have one of those things with two screws screwed into my tibia. I have a huge scar from that surgery. Looks like a shark bit me it is so big. I had the surgery in the late seventies, past any more height growth before they would use the implant. It holds my knee cap in place so it stops it from dislocating. I am 59 now. I am guessing he might be in my age range. The other surgeries were in my twenties and these later surgeries were all lateral releases, microscopic surgeries. They leave no scars. Maybe he suffered from dislocating knees as a youngster, I have a form of Ehler's D. Or maybe he suffered from arthritis or a sports injury?..

Could someone please check NamUs exclusions for this John Doe?

Could Fred M be a possible match? He went missing in NM in 1987.

Or Mervin W? Missing from Iowa in 1990. Had an upper denture.

Maybe Nickolas P? He was driving a car found abandoned in Las Vegas in 1993, keys missing. False teeth mentioned. Maybe he had more than one set of dentures?
