CLOVIS, NM (KVII) — A Clovis teenager accused of shooting his friend's parents in exchange for money will stay in jail pending trial.

Police said Zamora confessed to shooting each of them in the head on Dec. 15 while the couple slept in their bed.

Zamora said Darren Munoz hired him to kill his parents and make it look like a robbery.

The night of the murder, Zamora said he walked to the house. The garage door was open and he walked inside.

According to Munoz, Zamora said he hesitated and wasn't sure he was going to go through with it.

After the shooting, Zamora said he "went blank," ran out of the house and back home.

During a more than hour long hearing, the state called three witnesses.

Zamora's defense attorney asked Deputy Jacob Bonner, a detective with the Roosevelt County Sheriff's Office, about two clips of surveillance video that were played in court.

Bonner said one of them showed Darren Munoz put two guns in his waistband. Bonner said it was taken around 5 p.m. on Dec. 14, about 12-hours before the murders.
