NM - Tera Chavez, 26, found dead in her Los Lunas home, 22 Oct 2007 - #1

This prosecutor doesn't seem very organized. I can hear her flipping through all the photos....to get the one she want's to present?

This witness found a journal under the bed and a baggie full of green leafy substance......and used the bathroom while he was on scene! He was not told it was a suspected homicide so went ahead and used the bathroom!

Geez, and he helped raised money for the defendant?

Omg the officer used the restroom at the scene!! Sounds so wrong to me even if it wasn't a homicide. Shows how they were in "buddy" mode... not as professional.

What I got from that last garbled question....prosecution asked about the gun and chambering the second round by accident. Was Tera shot twice? Can someone bring me up to speed on how many times she was shot?

I read that Chavez purchased six bottles of cough syrup shortly before Tera died. If it was Nyquil I can see that she may have been almost knocked out. That stuff knocks me out. So he could have put the gun in her hand and pulled the trigger so that she has powder burns on her hand. I don't know if either Tera or Levi were tested for gun residue? I'd hope even though initially it was thought of as a suicide the coroner would do tests for residue, angle of projectory etc.

Is this a jury trial? This defendant just blurted out theat he didn't recognize counsel for the defense unless he was at the civil depositions. Should the jury even be aware of other actions taken against this defendant or this case?

I thought the same thing. I wonder if the department drug tested Levi Chavez when the officers found the marijuana in his house.

I am not sure. If she was shot twice I would think Mr. Badass would have pled?

I don't know how long Tera Chavez was dead before LE started looking at this as something other than a suicide so I doubt Levi was tested. :(

I am not sure what the chambering of the gun question was about. Here is an article that says Tera was shot once.

"Tera Chavez died from a single gunshot wound to the mouth. Jurors on Monday saw crime scene photos, including one that showed the woman slumped in bed, the handgun that was found next to her and one of her husband's police uniforms in the bedroom armoire."

Well isn't that special....some kind of break and the defendant is standing there leaning against the railing like he owns the courtroom......I sure hope someone fixes the audio while the break happens!

Try external speakers or what I did was started the streaming on my ipad with an app that runs flash player and plugged it into a speaker doc, now I can hear but yes I do hope they work on the audio

Why thank you for that advice......but they got me! Sound is now off until I see more people in the courtroom!

Ah shucks I missed the action! Is that why they are on break now?

There was an argument over some rule (maybe 35) and something was only supposed to be mentioned in one question. And somehow it got mentioned where or when it wasn't supposed to be......then a break! So I am not sure what is going on......this trial is going to be awfully hard to follow if the audio doesn't improve!

So in this court the attorneys argue right there (if you can hear them) in court instead of approaching/requesting a side bar. Each trial has it's little nuisances. Like the mickey mouse audio on this one.
