I do not understand why this attorney is allowed to basically testify instead of asking questions of the witness like every other lawyer does.

Because he is a defense lawyer. In every trial I have ever watched, the DT seems to be allowed to do this. sigh!

Jeannie Morrow on the stand now, neighbor of Chavez's in 2007. Said she knew Levi was an APD cop, had seen him in uniform and in his unit [police car]. She is flight attendant; left for work the Saturday morning, saw Chavez pulling into his driveway at the same time. The Saturday before the Sunday night that police were called due to Tera's death.
Serna objected; some scuttlebutt going on now about dates of Ms. Morrow's work schedule. McKay is showing her her schedule to refresh recollection. She confirms she saw him the morning of the 20th, Saturday morning, pulling into the cul-de-sac where they lived.
