NM - Tera Chavez, 26, found dead in her Los Lunas home, 22 Oct 2007 - #1

Holy cow--I think I just dropped acid.

Edit--what in the world happened to the feed??

I wish this witness would pretend she is home with her kids and use THAT voice so we all could hear her. I could wake the dead with my home alone with the kids voice.

:floorlaugh: :floorlaugh: GOOD ONE!

the court needs multiple breaks from serna otherwise they'd all be bat$hit crazy.

I totally understand the mom part. You never stop being the child's mother but this happened several years ago and the pain of finding out you have been used happens to most adults in their lifetime and I expect a cop, to have seen crime and ugly things people do to one another, to be stronger.

My opinion the 'freakin f' comment really cut this woman deeply. I just wish she was stronger for herself. Levi was and is a murdering 🤬🤬🤬. She should see that awful comment coming from a worthless excuse of a man and give it no power over herself.

Yes you are right. I agree and now reflecting on how that whole last part of today went down, my goodness.... I love this thread because I really value the different perspectives. Thank you.

Very true. I have found that living in certain parts of the country has such a huge impact on many of our thoughts and feelings. I have friends in the Pacific Northwest whom I love dearly but we differ on so many social, political, and food issues.
I think it's good, in a criminal case, to hear what others think and feel because, again, our perspectives, and even perceptions, are often different.

Perhaps, but she is a state's witness and they are supposed to go over things with her before she takes the stand. They are supposed to have her back so to speak. I don't think they have done that with any of their own witnesses.

I agree NC. This PT seems fairly non-existent. Ms. Keener seems to be much better at this than Mr. McKay, who doesn't seem passionate about his job at all. I'm with you NC, PT doesn't seem to have anyone's back. Even I know they can object to "asked and answered"!

She is being used as his alibi in this murder, so it's very personal to her. I think that's why she's so emotional.

Did she admit that she did in fact see him at her house at a specific time the night Tera wad murdered? She is alibi, but when was be with her....could she recall?

:seeya::seeya:Bye friends see you all Friday. Good night. Be safe

I hope the prosecution isn't objecting b/c he sees that this nonsense repetitive cross of the witness is annoying the jurors.

That crossed my mind, too, but enough is enough already. That jury has to be thinking same as us, and prosecution starting to look inept by not objecting to anything.

No, she said it over and over again to Serna that she didn't know. They even got into a little shouting match while she was on the witness stand. He was twisting everything she had said in her interview with Jones, and in another with Serna, trying his best to trip her up. They finally took a break in the courtroom, Serna got his paperwork together to confront her about what she had previously said,,,,and for all appearances he had her. Then, the State re-crossed and continued reading from the interview and she had said in 2007 and again with her interview with Serna in 4/13 that she didn't know what time LC got to her house. So the entire back and forth with Serna was a huge mess, for no reason at all, except Serna quoted about a dozen times that LC said she was a ' f****** freak' or whatever. He said the word so much and so often we were all sick of it, and the witness finally cried a little. I really like her, LC had her all picked out for his alibi for the night of the murder and I pray the jury saw it the way we did on here.

Let me add that he basically spent the weekend with her but he worked til midnight on both Friday and Saturday nights and she was asleep when he got to her place. She couldn't say what time he got there either night, only that it had to have been after midnight since that was when his shift ended.

Was that an objection??? COOL!

McKay objected?! Did he sound sleepy because I bet you he just woke up.

Now that you mention it, I do think I saw this guy in the gallery during a break.
