NM - Tera Chavez, 26, found dead in her Los Lunas home, 22 Oct 2007 - #1

''Of coursse not'', she didn't call them. Yet earlier she was all lovey-dovey with the Cordova's and invited them to all family events.

I know that was odd and struck me as that is the truth of their relationship. To say of course I would not call them who would say that about family of marriage even in the worst of times unless you really hate each other.

So is the man she just sat down with her current husband or her former husband--Levi's dad? I have been thinking Levi's dad all this time. She is probably just making a point about harboring no ill will and went straight over there and plopped down.

It struck me too like lightening. Something soured in their relationship along the way and I can bet it was not anything the Cordova's did.

Who will pay for a defense witness expert, bill is $2800. Serna says state, state says defense. Judge says split bill in half #levichavez

Serna is cheap!!

His wardrobe is proof.

I don't really have much to do with my children's in-laws. We see them at birthday parties and talk then but I do not call them out of the blue. I talk to my children and my daughter-in-law and sons-in laws. So I do not find that strange at all. We are not "friends" with my children's in-laws we are just both sets of loving parents and grandparents.

No I completely understand but what if you were worried or could not find your daughter in law or had a bad feeling... then would you call your daughter in laws mother? If you were concerned something happened. That is what struck me. IMO

At the beginning of her testimony she was talking in ways that sounded like her family and the Cordova's were very close, she always invited them to her family events, etc. Then she popped out with 'of course not' when she was asked if she called the Cordova's when she couldn't locate Tera or Levi. Just a huge paradoxical attitude change in her.

My daughter-in-laws mother lives an hour and a half from where my daughter-in-law and son live so I would be more apt to just go out to their house and see if they were home. Or text them both, but I see them every Sunday for lunch so I have not been in the position. Or I would call or text my 13 year old grandson and see what he was doing.

I wouldn't want to call my daughter-in-laws parents and make them worry just because I was, I guess I am looking at it in a different way. These are not children, they are adults. I don't know every little thing they do during the week so it might not be unusual that I could not get ahold of them when I thought about it.

I didn't get the communications guy's reason for being called.
Russell Perea up next.

I certainly understand. I don't know if I have ever been in the position of trying to reach my of my kids and couldn't. I have a close relationship with my children's spouse's parents, although they all live out of town.

That man is LC's biological father and I just know this because KOAT has referred to him as the father. I think the mom and dad are taking the parental role as a united front while their son is on trial. This was also probably advised by Serna because it looks good for the jury too. The parents probably wanted too anyway IMO. Yes because it is also good for the jury for Rita Ramero to make a point of the parents having no ill will.

This is Mr. Chavez's partner at the time of Tera's death.

"The man who was with Levi Chavez the night Tera Chavez died will take the stand after all.

Chavez's partner when he was with Albuquerque police, now former officer Russell Perea, has been granted immunity by Judge George Eichwald and will now take the stand in the murder trial."

Seems that he Perea should have been a state's witness.....

I think your reasoning NCEast is why Rita Romera's statement struck me odd. The shift in her position.

I hope Keener does the cross and asks him about those phone calls mentioned in the article linked here a few days ago. If the PT did find calls from LC's phone to RP's that evening I just don't get why we haven't heard more about that, it seems so significant.

Yes but the jury does not know all of the back story.
