Police say Arredondo-Soto is believed to have killed Yuriko Santana-Hernandez and her 1-year-old son Julian before lighting the victims' mobile home on fire. They allege that Soto went to rob the house and when things went bad, he killed them. Authorities have said Santana-Hernandez was stabbed several times and slashed while the baby boy was slashed in the neck.

Jurors found 26-year-old Jesus Joaquin Arredondo Soto guilty Thursday on two counts of first-degree murder, abuse of a child resulting in death, tampering with evidence, and unlawful taking of a motor vehicle.

Prosecutors say Arredondo Soto faces up to two life prison terms when he's sentenced Oct. 29.

A judge sentenced Jesus Joaquin Arredondo-Soto to two life sentences plus three years in prison Wednesday. The life sentences will be served consecutively.

A jury found Arredondo-Soto guilty last month of repeatedly stabbing 21-year-old Yuriko Santana-Hernandez and slashing her 1-year-old son Julian's throat before setting the South Valley home on fire.
