Yes...there were two conferences on that Friday...Pathways & REIQ...both were on at South Bank

Maybe she told old Gerby that she was going to r/e conf when in reality she was going to pathways?????

On the Friday after his arrest he was ordered to supply a beard hair....last week he was ordered to shave the beard.

I guess my question really is, considering the judge said he was a flight risk...if he meant "flying out of the country"...how did he expect him to fly out without a passport??

Sadly being a flight risk includes any action the accused might take that would result in him not being around for the trial. And people who avoid court in that way sometimes take others with them. MOO.

KtK, what would be the process for dealing with a co-accused on remand? I assume that they would be kept separate without the ability to communicate with each other?

Just thinking about the challenges presented by the possibility of multiple defendants on remand for essentially the same indictment.

So that I don't overstep re privacy...google Fathers Day Massacrer re Comancheros and Bandidos. One group were sent to Goulburn and the other were sent to Lithgow Prison.

I think someone said he had dual Zimbabwe/Australian citizenship - maybe they were going to get him to Townsville and then on a boat - I left on a boat from Townsville many years ago - no checks by officials and we went very close to PNG (prawn trawler)

someone stated, forgive me, I cant find the name of the poster, I appreciated the post, too,, that Gerard sent the 'committed to JULY 1 ' stuff on April 3rd, etc. and thats fine, I agree there.

BUT he sent from Bruce Overland (!!) an email AFTER Allisons disappearance that he had to 'lay low'....

I suspect that the editors and legal depts for the major news outlets are working overtime at the moment. MOO.

Ohhh I wasn't sure if you were still around...I was going to reply to Nads post & say maybe we should ask Hawkins what is classed as a flight risk...lol.

Thankyou...but could this still mean a flight out??

Also...re the taking others with them...that is what I & many others were sooo worried about last week...horrible thought!!!!

Maybe he was going to do a Tony Mokbel, and go thru the 'Gateway to Greece' , at Broome, and next thing, we'd see him in a downtown Athens cafe with a ridiculous wig on.

Either way , any way, it would be a sure bet that Gerard would muck it up. THat man can do nothing right.

Gerard would get to the airport on his runaway flight, and find that he had to be at the railway station. ..

I feel the same. Please tell will they have to pay for the legals to obtain the children's custody orders

Keen, this might help -

Application for Reduction of Court Fees on the basis of financial hardship

For approval for a fee to be reduced on the basis of financial hardship, you will need to show that your income, day-to-day living expenses, liabilities and assets are at such a level that payment of the full fee would cause you financial hardship.

* For further information or to get paper copies of this document sent to you, call 1300 352 000, or visit a family law registry near you.

I would assume that the Federal Magisitrate's Court, which also has a Family Law jurisdiction, would have similar hardship provisions. This of course will only apply to the Court fees. A legal representative would need to make any applications, and those legal fees would need to be found, unless Legal Aid funding is applicable.

Can anyone with some insight into criminal psychology explain the detachment component for me. For example, GBC is crapping his caterpillar nickers being incarcerated. Why do crims become kitten weak only when they're caught? How are they able to detach from the realisation that the victim experienced fear in their last moments yet, they're more worried about their own predicament in gaol?

I honestly think it's a unique person who's only worried about himself and not using the time to think 'shoot, what have I done ... I've taken the life of my children's mother'. Why isn't he reflecting on the fear she experienced when he was ending her life. Why isn't he distressed that he's changed his children's lives forever? Why is this cretin only worried about being locked up?

I just don't get this stuff. Silly.evil.people. They should have been blown on the sheets and wiped off.

because he may not be able to feel empathy, sadly

A bit off topic but the first time I sat in with a legal aid lawyer, the number of clients that came in, blurted out that they committed the offence but wanted the lawyer to "get them off" was surprising. Didn't matter how the interview started it would pretty much end up in an admission in the first 10 minutes. The next half hour would be spent trying to explain how difficult a not guilty plea now is.

Back on topic, I think GBC would be a very difficult client for his legal team. They will earn every cent of their fee on this one.

RE legal team - unless GBC pleads guilty (which I doubt), I believe his current legal team will at some point change. They know he has no means of ever paying the very high fees and will stop representing him sooner rather than later. IMO.

Basically means fleeing the jurisdiction of the court. Which is usually travel, but the defense would have offered conditions to counter this such as electronic monitoring.

Quick one, Does anyone have proof for when TM actually first was in contact with the Po po?

I'd like to know this too. Also, interested in whether they contacted her first, or she came forward to them (am guessing the former, now that we now GBC told police that first morning that Allison had found out about the affair).

Great question. They crumble because their power ( or rather perceived power) is taken. They become vulnerable. They become the target or victim in prison quite often. That said many, when they adjust, become very dangerous prisoners as they lack empathy and will often attempt to build a power base in prison and target the weak in there also. the variables and environment just changes.

If you google you'll find lots of stuff on this that reliable and valid. Journal articles. GBC is an unknown entity. Stress is a big factor. Hence my term house of cards. Hope this helps:)

Prisoners sometimes take 6 months or more to make a plan and officers have 6 seconds to fix it.

Flight risk means any type of "running away", not necessarily only flying out of the country. He could go underground in Australia.
