We are renewing our appeal to find Noel Haruna, 25, who is missing from Colchester.

Noel was last seen in the area of East Street/East Hill, in Colchester, in the early hours of Sunday 22 October.

We remain concerned for his welfare and need to find him to make sure he's ok.

He is about 6ft 3in tall, of slim build, and was last seen wearing a denim jacket with white fur, a black jumper, black trousers and black trainers.

We are in a position to release a CCTV image, which captures Noel in the area of East Hill at around 4am on Sunday 22 October.

Chief Inspector Ella Latham said: “Our focus continues to be on Colchester, particularly the areas in the vicinity of East Hill, where Noel was last seen on Sunday 22 October.

“My officers are continuing our enquiries to find him, but our concern for his welfare continues to grow.

“I urge the community in Colchester to take a good look at his image and consider whether they may have seen Noel.

“I would particularly call on dog walkers or anyone out and about in Colchester in the early hours of Sunday 22 October to recall where they were and whether they saw anyone matching his description.

“Any piece of information, no matter how small, could prove pivotal.”

Please contact us on 999 quoting incident 528 of Tuesday 24 October with any information that will help us find Noel.

Noel went to Trilogy with his housemates as part of the new nightclub’s launch weekend.

But though Noel’s two housemates came home at the end of the night, Noel did not.

After Noel had been missing for more than a day, his friends contacted the family on Monday evening to tell them they had not seen Noel since the night out, when he was wearing a blue denim jacket, black slim fit jeans, and black Nike trainers.

Do we possibly know the ID of the other two housemates? Also the area/region of their residence? (PLS DO NOT DOXX THEIR ADDRESS IF FOUND) I'm assuming he walked to the club based on footage.
He seems comfortable with the area & no signs of apparent distress although just on one picture. I will try and look through other public cams (if allowed in Essex, not sure on legality there) to see if we can make any other ID's on different time/dates or even location. So sad, watching this thread to keep up.

ALSO anyone know why they did not all come home together? Was there a reason he walked back alone or the party he came with decided to leave early?

Prayers for the family & missing victim.

I dont think the public will find much about the housemates, they clearly left early. How long is Noel’s walk home? What water courses may be on route or close by? What I find surprising is Essex police do not mention the night club in their appeal. It could well be that something may of happened there but police have not asked for any witnesses that saw Noel in the club.

as an aside, I know CCTV images they release are a photo of a screen, but this one seems particularly bad.

That said, I think I know where the CCTV image is from. It appears to be in front of the East Hill Superstore, on 52 East Hill St. The sidewalk pattern matches, as does the street markings you can see in the back right (one right arrow, one left).

The Trilogy Nightclub is (confusingly) listed as ATIK on Google Maps. Its address is 131 High St.

It's a straight walk of half a mile from the nightclub to where he was last seen.

Edit: attachments do not seem to work right now. Here's 131 High St to East Hill Superstore

Edit 2: The Trilogy nightclub is open from 9 pm to 4 am, so it seems that he probably left when it closed. Login • Instagram

Snipped by me for focus.

Shades of Liam Graham's disappearance here. To date, I don't think there has been a public acknowledgement by the police (albeit a different force) that Liam was involved in an accident immediately before he went missing. It is all the more strange in Noel's case, though, considering how many people could potentially have seen him in the club. I guess the police must have their reasons.

Unfortunately, the area police are focusing on (East St.) is right by the River Colne. I suspect that's why they're appealing to dog walkers rather than any witnesses from the nightclub.

In a direct appeal to Noel, his family said:

“It’s been 11 days since you have been seen or heard from.

“This is unlike you. Even more so as today is your birthday.

“We are in so much pain and despair and worried about what would have happened to you.

“Please come home, we love you so dearly and it’s so painful not to know where you are.

“We would want to use this medium to appeal to friends, well-wishers and the public to kindly help us look for Noel.

“You may wish to confidentially or anonymously report, by calling 101.”

Wondering why Noel looks so sad? imo.
Photos edited out for brevity.

A possible answer to this may lie in one of the comments in the original police appeal:

Essex Police Facebook page (original appeal)

The comment was made by someone with the initials NR. Perhaps NR knows Noel in a professional capacity (you can see where NR works by holding your cursor above their name).

Really sad update
We have suspended our search for Noel Hurana, 26 who was missing from Colchester.

This follows the recovery of a man’s body from the River Colne earlier today (3 November). Formal identification is yet to take place but Noel Hurana’s family have been informed and will continue to receive support.

The man’s death is not being treated as suspicious and a file is being prepared for the Coroner.

" A body has been pulled from a river in the search for a man who disappeared on a night out shortly before his 26th birthday. Essex Police said the man's body was recovered from the River Colne in Colchester on Friday."

"The force added that the death was not being treated as suspicious and a file was being prepared for the coroner. Mr. Haruna was last spotted on CCTV walking along East Hill, a short distance from the nightclub, at about 04:00 BST."

"They said the disappearance was out of character for Mr Haruna."

So sad, still waiting for a positive ID but does not look good as family has been called and notified.

I really don’t get the whole water thing. It just doesn’t seem possible that so many young men end up drowning. MOO
