I don't think the article say, but in the comment field a woman is commenting: a white mercedes supposedly picked up a man hiking. BTW. Just found a small note about a 20 year old girl found dead in Fauske the 3rd Sept. oh..well, probably not any connection..edit: just found out, suicide. no connction.

Tarjei has asked police about the phones . The phone that pinged at Fauske was not the same that pinged down South.

"Police confirmed two cellphones."

I belive the police classifies both the "3xRognan witness" and "hiking witness" as unreliable independent of each other. The only witness they verify is the receptionist at check-out I think, or at least thats the only they could doublecheck buy signature at check out, payment or alike.

Confusing post all around..started to read back from page 2 till page 4 on this thread..you posted @Chiatos there a video from the BN -de stem ,where the po talks about 1 phone who was on.
Then the guardian writes about two phones that were on.
The media has pictured the wrong hotel..

And @eeqaz ..he should have stayed idd elsewhere on the first nights and the last nights..so I thought ,if the tip was valid -with the white mercedes- a friend,or a meeting,perhaps..?

I guess you are right..little bit strange,both hotels have open reception 24/7 but maybe the staff was interviewed so much later,that they could not remember seeing him and it was high season.

Arjen had not yet been reported as missing.

The police claim it has been opened with the SIM code. - Is this the same mobile that gave signal in Fauske ? No, I have read somewhere (Twitter findarjen?) that it was a different phone. AK had brought TWO phones with him. The one that pinged in/at Fauske has never been found. The other pinged at Vikesa. How do they know he used a code ?

If the hiking witness is valid the 3xRognan witness also could be, cause then he would have lift back to Fauske where his phoned pinged.

And I do think that this is the orginal packaging that goes with the Oru kayak (coast XT) so maybe he took a large black backpack so he could put more stuff into it?

With all the questions,that remain open and (still) leading no where..it seems that it comes down to his cyber knowledge and interest in the Nato base,when he stayed in Bodø.

For all he worked for, so that jouralists have a better chance to secure their data/sources ...
I really wonder now,why the media didnt investigate this.. . thoroughly,asked questions,stir the pot a little,poke around!

Is it 100% proven that AK checked in into the Scandic Hotel?

That ping-pong thing between the Havet and the non-Havet, in combination with the Radisson that by the way seems to be popular within NATO?

No one seems to have seen him while he was staying in bodo or at the hotel? He never had breakfast? How strange is that?

It is!
If you only look at the reviews of booking.com,there are at least 3 Dutch people who stayed there in August 2018 (around the same time) who put up a good review about the hotel and breakfast.

So...did Arjen go on vacation or did he had a purpose/interest?
On the last days of his stay,he decided to go kayaking..at the end of the day..when the weather wasnt that great..on a location,wich isnt usual to do so..

Btw,didnt know the hotel seems populair within Nato

From memory:
Someone in a car saw a man looking like AK who got into another car at Saltstraumen. The car would have been driving away from Saltstraumen. The hiker would have carried a backpack. This happened around the time (or even later) when AK also would have caught the train to Fauske and Rognan.
I have seen no info that the white car and its occupants were identified. IMHO it could have been any car and hiker.

IMHO it does not make sense that Arjen Kamphuis would not have spoken to anyone during ten days. Not eaten anywhere during ten days. No shopping for groceries.
If all this is true, his must have been raving mad from social isolation and exhausted due to lack of food.

I don not believe that it is true, but in the unlikely event that it is, his physical and mental state would explain perfectly why the kayak was so badly assembled. And he would not have been able to walk from Rognan station to the shore with all his packs.

The clerk at the desk did not notice anything particular during his check-out. Let's assume that AK ate, slept, shopped and also had contact with other persons, who do not remember him.
