According to Norwegian press the girl killed was his adopted sister, born in China, not a stepsister. Politiet om moskéskytingen: – Forsøk på en terrorhandling

Norwegian police and press haven't released the name of the shooter, it's usually not done in the Scandinavian countries to reveal names in the press until the trail or after the sentencing.

Johanne Zhangjia Ihle-Hansen, who was the terrorist's step-sister, was found killed following the attack on Al-Noor Mosque on Saturday.

As a two-year-old, Ihle-Hansen was adopted from China, and she was 17 when she was found killed at the terrorist's address. The two had no common parents, and she is referred to by the police as the presumed perpetrator's sister.

Police went out Monday night with the name of the dead woman in consultation with her family.

Two guns and still got beat up like this. Whoever did this to him, he deserved it. What a fool.
Seems to be some confusing reports about the girl he killed, is she his sister or not? Who adopted her? Was she living in the same home as him?

claudianunes: the best information seems to be Legally Bland's article. For those of us a bit rusty in Norwegian, Google translates it as:

Johanne Zhangjia Ihle-Hansen (17) was found killed in the terrorist's home

Johanne Zhangjia Ihle-Hansen, who was the terrorist's step-sister, was found killed following the attack on Al-Noor Mosque on Saturday.

by Henrik GiæverMarthe and S. LienSofie Fraser

The two shared address at Eiksmarka in Bærum. In addition, the defendant had an apartment in Oslo.

Principal: - Tragic

Ihle-Hansen is scheduled to start second grade at Sandvika High School.

VG has previously spoken to principal Ann Hege Jerve at the school, who thought it was a tough message to get. - First and foremost, I think this is very tragic. It is a serious event and it affects us. My thoughts go to my parents and family. She said that the students will be well looked after in the future. - We must focus on being together and creating security, being generous towards each other, and showing warmth and respect

Aim for terror and murder

In addition to the murder of his 17-year-old step-sister, Manshaus is also charged with terror. The charge was extended earlier Monday. - The charge has changed to include terror. In addition, he is charged with murder, Grete Lien Metlid, who heads the Joint Intelligence and Investigation Unit of the Oslo Police, told VG.

At 13.15, Manshaus was remanded in custody in Oslo District Court. He does not admit criminal charges. At the request of his client, his defender told Unni Fries that she had filed a petition for him to be released. "He doesn't want to go to jail," Fries said.

Manshaus smiled as he sat down in the courtroom, and blue eyes around both eyes and wounds and marks down his throat, showed that he was carrying the basket case that arose Saturday afternoon inside the mosque.

From the description of the man that disarmed him, he said he jumped on him and held his arms. PM had a helmet on at the time. I'm wondering if his sister injured him like this because there was no description of taking off his helmet and injuring him at the mosque, although he deserved it.

I did search the web to know something more about Norwegian criminal laws. Well...this psycho would only risk to be sentenced to 22 years in prison (or less...)
There's neither DP in Norway (of course....) nor life imprisonment...
And their prisons look like hotels (all inmates have the right to watch tv, play videogames, et al...)
That's why the sub-human smirked in court

I don't think that's why he smirked in court. He doesn't care about what prisons look like, if he did he wouldn't have done what he did. He has no regard for anyone's life.

With the exception of Belarus (and on paper, Russia) no European country have the death penalty. In Norway the death penalty was abolished in peace time in 1902, and for all crimes in 1979. The last execution in peace time was way back in 1876 in Norway. In which country is there fewer murders per 100,000 individuals, Norway without death penalty, or the U.S. where the death penalty exists as a claim to prevent murders?

The death penalty doesn't prevent anything, if someone commits a very serious crime, their place is behind bars for the rest of their life. In my country, the maximum sentence is 25 years, which is not great because killers, rapists and other violent people do get out eventually, but the vast majority don't really reoffend. Every country has problems, no system is perfect.

Maybe he does not care about other people's life but he cares about his own life. And I think he also care about what prison look like, because he will do his time in a prison that look like the Sheraton hotel...

Of course there is fewer murders in Norway....the United States population is more than 300 millions, Norway has a little more than 5 millions...
Small country = Less criminals

Death penalty is not perfect but can be useful. It's not true that it doesn't prevent anything...many people fear their death and if you tell them they can be put to death if kill somebody, maybe they don't kill!

Yeah... I'm not gonna go there, my country doesn't have it, I don't mind.

PM expected a large number of muslims at the mosque, because it was an important religious occasion, coinciding with the pilgrimage in Mecca.

But there were only 3 people in the mosque, as the prayer times differ. One of them was Mohammed Rafiq, the 65 year old hero.

Slightly different circumstances, and PM could have eclipsed NZ Al Noor mosque death toll. This mosque had same name, and PM admired both Breivik and Tarrant.

It is possible that the "sister" tried to stop him, or he may just have killed her because she was also a non-Nordic immigrant in his eyes.

He mentioned Valhalla in his manifesto. Odin and Valhalla themes are common in White Supremacy.

PM have explained to the police that he had to kill his stepsister to protect his father and stepmother in a future race war, where ethnic Norwegians who had close contacts with "non-whites" would be in danger. In Norwegian: Terrorsiktet i politiavhør: Fryktet rasekrig i Norge – ville beskytte foreldrene

At the trial today Monday, PM began with making a Nazi salute before sitting down. Nor surprising, his defence lawyers doesn't want to comment the salute or the background for it. In Norwegian: Terrorsiktede Philip Manshaus (22) om motiv: Måtte ty til vold

PM have acknowledged the deeds, but still claims that he did that in seld-defense, and as a part in a resistance struggle. (He still appears to keep his "world wievs" of the far-rigth extremism and nationalism).
