Not Happy About Weather In The South This Weekend

South Carolina northern coast here, we are watching it carefully too! It's been so cold, I don't even want to imagine our power and natural gas bill!
Yeah, my electric bill for January was almost $400.

We use "budget" billing, so we pay the same amount each month. They average the gas and electric over a year. I have done this for years.

That’s a good idea. I need to look into this with my electric company.

The weather seems to be getting more extreme. Rain storms are more like drenching rivers of rain, snow storms are either barely a dusting or blizzards that last hours with feet of snow.

We had a windstorm here, that was crazy, hurricane winds, for hours on end. Nothing like that usually happens here, maybe a few gusts, but not sustained wind for hours.

I don't know. Does it seem that way to others?
We have these kind of ice storms every few years here in Mississippi. Its just something we know can happen. The last really bad one was in '94.

We finally have water today. Still saying we likely won’t have power until Sunday. Plus, there is the other storm coming on Friday. Praying they get our power back on early by some miracle!

According to the weather geeks, there’s a 50/50 chance. It’s either going out to sea or we’re going to get hammered again.
normally I would say I like snow but not another storm right now. normally I would also say I like cold weather but not the single digits. And I do not really want to see my next gas bill.

Keep the hope! My family in rural Vicksburg were told Sunday, but theirs came back on yesterday (Wednesday)!!! Like you, they are out in the woods surrounded by trees.

Nothing much happened in my neck of the woods (Upper East Tennessee) last weekend. Now we are told to expect 6-10 inches of snow this weekend. Been to the store. Generator still hooked up. We'll see what happens!

Good luck! We had a foot of snow last weekend and earlier this week they were talking about a blizzard. But I think we lucked out; now they’re saying the storm is going out to sea. But I’m not taking any chances. I got groceries today.

We are facing round 2 of this misery for the weekend and with the net and cable down I'm so glad to have hoarded dvds and ads. The low teens are truly a shock to the system.

Today it is sunny here and 45, tomorrow we're expecting 2-4" of snow and temps going into the teens for the next 3 nights. This is in the Myrtle Beach SC area!! Crazy cold.
