Not Happy About Weather In The South This Weekend

Under a big snowfall here in SC and it has begun to freeze now. Im worried about electricity as there are people 4 wheeling around the county and sure to mess something up. TV dinners are the meals for the weekend. Stay safe.

It was -30 F (-35 C) when I went out to feed the birds. How do the wee creatures survive such cold? That's ice on the inside of the window.

The Weather Channel has dubbed this event "Winter Storm Gianna."

Woke up just in time for the bottom with 14 degrees showing. Think I'll just turn over and sleep until Wed afternoon

This is crazy. It was actually warmer in Helena, MT yesterday, than in Mami, FL. And when it is cold in Mami, it is COLD! With wind chill and humidity.

Lots of reports of snow flurries overnight even south of Sarasota. It was 38 deg, feels like 28 deg, wind 16 mph when I woke up. I’ve lived in FL a lot of years, on both coasts and have never dealt with these temps here, ever.

I’ve been bundled up and have my fuzzy socks, my afghan, two layers of clothes, drinking hot chocolate and hot tea. It’s not even going to warm up until mid week.

Checked in with my kids, my bonus girls (my daughters friends who consider me their second Mom) and everyone is cold but safe.

My oldest girl is in Panama City Beach and did not get snow. She tried to walk the beach but she was freezing in the wind. Her boyfriend is in Dothan, AL and he got snow.

Jessie & Jen are both in Wilmington NC and both got snow. Jen’s beagle Lucy doesn’t like snow! Jen has a view of a body of water somewhere in Wilmington so a neat photo of the bridge.

Mara is in Charleston SC and had light snow. Mello, her dog didn’t quite know what to make of the snow!

My Uncle Bill in Wheeling WV had 8” of snow.

My friend in Rincon GA, near Savannah GA got snow too.

I’m in SE AL about 30 miles west of Dothan. It’s so cold here(to me). Yesterday and today were brutal with temps not climbing above freezing and the wind chill in the single digits. It has warmed up some this afternoon to the low 40s, and the poor heat pump is finally catching up some. But temps are starting to to drop again. Thankfully we will be warming up tomorrow. Hopefully this will be over. They got snow flurries in Troy yesterday and a few folks in my area saw flakes falling but thankfully nothing stuck and we aren’t having to deal with ice and snow.
