i just wanted to talk about the 3rd (and last) interview with avery for a moment. and i know it's not about the many pieces of evidence, or avery's consistencies, but it's just about the man's reaction when confronted with it.

this struck me most about his whole demeanor:

1. he's pissed. understandably, somehow.
2. he seems honest.
i mean.. at one point he is saying "yeah.... watched a sex movie"..."2 women... then a man came..." (cops wanted to know what else he did that evening/night, oct. 31st)

i mean.. it is hilarious if it weren't so damn serious, really. at one point he even asks fassbender i believe "can you tell me what you eat last week?", they laughed. yeah.. sure. there are long pauses here and there before avery answers, and some might say it's like checking in your head what might sound good but honesltly, he's, how do you say, rummaging around in his brain as it seems.

and then at 1:10:30 mins weigert starts:
"steve, the results of the investigation indicate that you had a role in theresa's disappearance."

and you probably know the rest.
the point is: to me this is an honest reaction through and through, despite the crapload of evidence they are gonna throw into his face for the next 10 minutes.. i know. but still, if that was an ice cold crime with almost no effort to conceal it, considering the blood in the RAV and so on... then his reaction is just a great display of lying... but to impress who? the cops.. who have an airtight case...?

how is it with cops in the US, it might differ from state to state, but are they all allowed to lie to a suspect during an interrogation?

1. fassbender mentions a "bloody palmprint" (notice avery's reaction to that).
a bloody palmprint would be like a smoking gun, i mean.. incredibly hard for someone to replicate if not completely impossible.
2. weigert with his "you were the last one to see her alive" which also ken kratz told the press or the jury at one point i am sure of that.
well the truth is, they don't know it. even looking at her phone records she could just have been at the zippereres or averys last. imo the zipperer house was the last stop she made.

Apparently police are allowed to lie to witnesses and suspects. What worries me is that cultivating this habitual lying makes them unreliable.
