don't know too much about N'Stink, guess it was one of thse many boy bands from many years ago---never heard of Justin Timberlake before either, except when he ripped off Janet Jacksons shirt during the Super Bowl---so Lance wanted to go up in the Space Shuttle?hmmm... not sure if he would get the green light now :)

Perhaps his trip's cancellation had more to do with this than his lack of $20 million for the Russian Space Agency..... :waitasec:

Hubba hubba!! What a hunk that dude is. Off topic but has anyone seen that picture of Matthew McCananahey or however you spell it surfing? He is wearing a khaki pair of trunks and no shirt and the trunks have no .... er.... front lining in them. He is standing on a surf board soaking wet. Oh my dear, I was mopping sweat from my brow.
Where is a link???? You can't throw that kind of cookie out there and not let us see....:blowkiss: The description has me warm.... Matthew is so pretty.

If I recall correctly, Lance had sponsors lined up to pay the fee for his space trip. I believe that he went through the training but then the sponsors for some reason didn't come through with the money.

That Perez Hilton is such a pot stirrer I swear! I heard because of Perez and his website that is how Lance's mother found out he was gay. That is very sad and very personal. None of Perez's beeswax!! On another note, I feel soooooo bad for all the little teeny boppers who spent all their hard earned babysitting cash on Lance items thinking there just might one day be a chance...lol j/k..but good luck to him I wish him the best and hope ..err uh whatever it is your supposed to hope for people when they come out?!

Actually he wasn't. Lance was practically stalked by an internet gossip writer by the name of Perez Hilton. Perez got people to write in with sightings and photos of Lance with his boyfriend Reichen (from Survivor). Then Perez started sending his info to places like the NY Post and Access Hollywood type shows. I felt really badly for him. This definitely isn't a surprise to the industry, but more so a surprise to some of the former NSync fans. I wish him the best. He is a really nice guy and being a part of N'Sync and having that pressure on him could not have been easy.

Paladin - you are kidding about not hearing a peep out of N'Sync people right? What about Justin Timberlake???

My 13-year old son, upon hearing that Lance was gay was "I KNEW IT, I COULD TELL BY THE WAY HE DANCED." It served as the terrific opening on a discussion with him about this topic. Being able to reassure him that there is absolutely nothing whatsoever wrong with being gay and that they're just like everyone else and deserve to be treated with as much dignity and respect as we would like to be, etc., was a good thing. I hope that Lance, while his privacy is being rudely interrupted, will consider these things as well and know that he did a good thing by coming out, if for no other reason than this.

Jeana I have been reading your posts for a long time and just love you..:blowkiss: I almost always agree with you. I dont understand why it is front page news and put on CNN. It is 2006 people should get over the whole gay thing as your kids might grow up thinking you hate them if they are gay. I think it is very sad that more people dont talk to their kids more about it. I just love that you did:crazy: I have many friends and my brother is gay but they are not gay thay are people. And I will tell you that they could care less with who is straight or gay. We are all people.JMO

You're beloved President might disagree with you.

On the other hand, I think it is stupid to hold a press conference or an interview to discuss the fact that you are gay.

I took my daughter to see NSYNC when she was in kindergarten. She eventually fell asleep, but I found myself in teenage mode screaming my head off: "I LOVE YOU LANCE!!!" Everyone who knew I went laughed at me, but honestly, it was one of the best concerts I've ever been to. My daughter loved Lance the best, but then he made a guest appearance on 7th Heaven & made out with Beverly Mitchell...and that ended it for her. It was like he cheated on her. I remember one of the interviews with the band about what life was like on the road and Lance was very effusive with praise for Justin: Justin's the best at everything, singing, dancing, basketball, video games, I just thought it was very sweet of him to be so complimentary. Now I look at his picture & think how did I not see that coming. Oh well, I'm glad that he has the support of his family & friends & is in a nice relationship with that hot guy.

The funny thing is when the band first got together, they all said Lance was the absolute worst dancer, that he had two left feet. I thought gay guys were supposed to be good dancers.

edited to add I totally agree with you on the rest of your post.

I usually agree with the point you are making, but in this case he had been outed and there were tawdry rumors swirling around about him being "caught" with an ex 🤬🤬🤬🤬 star, etc., so I can understand Lance's decision to just come out with the truth and get it over with.

imo
