Just getting up and can't believe how the numbers of dead and injured have grown since going to bed! This is so insane! Is this a lone man terrorist or a person who had a bad day in the casino?

My heart goes out to the families and friends of each of these victimized innocent people. As many have said, what is this world coming to and where is it safe to go today? :rose::rose:

The FBI is investigating a certain property north of Las Vegas, having to do with this case.

Here is a picture of Mandalay Bay Hotel and the window from which the shooter fired at the crowd below.

Doubtful since he was shooting into a crowd that was right-wing.

Not everyone who listens to country music is rightwing. But that's the assumption.

First thing I do when something happens is hit facebook and start snooping through profiles before they get taken down.. I did come by an instagram account that was supposed to be associated with this one but I didn't really look into it. It didn't look overly active and the front picture was the same going around the news that came from the wifes facebook

Thank you to all giving information from the presser. I'm at work so I'm trying to keep up. I've been sat on this thread doing nothing of my work for a while so I think just turning the volume up on my laptop next to my boss might be crossing the line a little!

Thanks sleuths!

Wow im hearing on youtube the shooter had 2 rooms and was firing out of both. The cops think he may have feared the cops would shoot at him from the ground. I don't get that, but wow is all I can say.

It is totally crazy to me that we're speculating that this man might've done something so horrible because he lost too much at gambling. Not that it's not totally possible, it's just that this day in age, to think that someone could commit such a horror for such a silly reason. Listening to the mayor and other officials talk about the number of deaths and type of trauma & injury just underscores the senselessness of this.

Charles Whitman did this with a bolt action rifle.

Whitman killed that many in 1 hour and :36 minutes, just imagine what this guy, Paddock, could have done in 1 hour and :36 minutes with his 10 automatics, or altered semis. He killed 58 and injured 200 in just a few minutes. Had the fire alarm not gone off in his room from the heat and smoke off of his firearm, LE might not have located him as quickly.

I’m extremely shocked and deeply saddened by the number of fatalities. May they Rest In Peace. I am praying for the injured too. I could not have imagined these very high numbers when I started the thread. Thank you to everyone for the news updates. Unfortunately I had to leave the thread to get some sleep before going to university.

OMG!!! I'm in complete shock!! Just waking up to this news this morning!! Praying for all those affected by this horrible tragedy.

We had tickets for the TIm McGraw and Faith Hill concert last month. I kept saying to my husband I didn't know if I wanted to go because of something like this. He convinced me everything was going to be ok and it was an awesome concert and I'm glad I went~~but I don't think I'll be going to anymore concerts in the future.

I love concerts but I don't know if I'd go to any set up like this one. They were basically fish in a barrel.

I went to bed when there were 2 dead and I woke up to almost 60 and over 500 injured. I have no words, only prayers...and hugs for all of us here. I hope Kai is OK at her hotel. I haven’t read all the posts. Thank you to all WSers for bringing news reports here. Like Bluesneakers, and I’m sure most of us, I come to WS for all breaking news. More hugs. :heartbeat:

Having seen that his companion was previously a 'high limit hostess' at a casino, I did a little research on that job title.
Some articles mention the hair trigger anger that some gamblers have when they lose a significant amount of money.
Wonder if this played into 'his loosing it"????
