Fox: Marilou is in Tokyo, will be questioned extensively when she gets back to the US

If she lived with him, as reported, she had to know a lot about his thoughts and plans, especially with the arsenal and explosives he kept at home. Is it possible she left the country because she knew he was preparing for this mass shooting? Very possible, IMO.

She may not have been an accomplice, but she should have reported his activities to LE.

You must look at the whole picture- Here is a man that, by all accounts lived a productive, law abiding life. Something
happened for him to commit such a heinous crime. Otherwise we need to ask- how was he able to live under the radar all these years? I will be very interested in knowing if they study his brain for pathology.

His father was a bank robber. I'd say the apple didn't fall far from the tree.

"Their dad, a bank robber and con man, was in and out of prison — and often on the run."

Lots of golf clubs coming into Vegas hotels and those travel bags could carry several large weapons without any knowledge.

Thanks for calling him killer[emoji35]. Let's not name him or see his picture.

Better yet, how about "coward". Some of these freaks think "killer" sounds macho and cool.

I have to wonder if some sort of mental illness was taking hold because from this article about his deceased father they do mention his father had been diagnosed as a psychopath which is a very serious illness if true. There is not really anything to back this up other than this report but if true then it may be something that can link mental illness to a direct blood relative of his.

I dont know much about mental illness but I think it can affect people later in life even if they did not have symptoms earlier in their life. Until something more concrete comes out IMO I am going to consider some sort of mental illness a possibility that may have contributed.

The other hint about it was the interview with the brother where he said something about "moving him". Like maybe they had to make all the arrangements. So wondering if he was losing his mental capacity.

I am also thinking he may have had a serious gambling problem and if mental illness was getting worse it may have put him over the edge to plan something like this.
Like was mentioned earlier maybe he went there with the plan to bet huge amounts and he would either win his money back or take revenge out on the casino and everyone else around him.

I guess we just have to wait until more is known about his motives.

Below is the article where we see them stating a diagnosis about the father.

"An FBI poster issued after the escape said Benjamin Hoskins Paddock had been "diagnosed as psychopathic" and should be considered "armed and very dangerous." He'd been serving a 20-year sentence for a string of bank robberies in Phoenix.

The elder Paddock remained on the lam for nearly a decade, living under an assumed name in Oregon. Investigators found him in 1978 after he attracted publicity for opening the state's first licensed bingo parlor. He died in 1998.

Psychopaths aren't psychotic. They're pretty much classified as personality disordered (anti-social personality disorder). Well able to understand right and wrong and to make decisions or choose not to do something. They just don't care.

They have a very serious affect on society often but they don't really have a serious mental illness.

evening news said he had been transferring cash to the Phillipines. that could make wrongful death suits hard to collect.

Well, THAT is curious.........

It is a Mental Illness. It is a Cluster B Personality Disorder, diagnosable in The DSM-V. The manual used to Diagnose mental illness and psychiatric disorders by psychiatrists, clinical social workers, psychologists and mental health professionals every single day. You do not have to exclusively acutely psychotic and disorganized to be mentally ill.

I am far from confused. Promise.

Yes........100% .....totally correct

And its is at least partly genetic.

59 funerals ...... so many are impacted by this act of terrorism.
Have to 'roll and scroll' when his face shows up in news articles. I don't want to see him.

Those poor parents who lost their only child !!

And for the record--- I don't think he just "snapped".
This atrocity was well planned and prepared.
Imo.

The brother mentioned that he would go down to Las Vegas to gamble. That raises the question as to whether he was a problem gambler and whether he had any financial difficulties which could have contributed to his state of mind. As to the mental health question, I think that killing 59 complete strangers and yourself for no apparent reason is definitionally not the act of a mentally healthy person.

I think that may be where the girlfriend is from originally?

A mention about the smoke alarm is here:

"After breaking the window of his room on the 32nd floor (likely with a hammer, police said), Paddock fired hundreds of shots which witnesses said sounded like machine-gun fire. The smoke from his shots set off a smoke alarm and alerted police to his location."

As an aside, being a gal from the south, a large number of guns and ammo wouldn't seem all that unusual. But someone owning that many suitcases would give me pause (a couple, not a large family). I can think of reasons, yes. That's a hello big collection of luggage. It's insignificant but it tripped my brain wire during the news conference.

Another CNN update says he was still alive when SWAT officers broke into his room. He charged them and fought, managed to shoot one officer in the leg before being killed. He went out fighting.
So he did not commit suicide.
FAA license nit allowed to be renewed. FAA won't release any health info.
IMO there is something that needs to be disclosed.
Physical or mental, or both.
I also see his driver's license had expired too.

"had a Texas driver’s license that has now expired"

OT, can anyone help me figure out how to make the video ads stop jerking my page around? I can barely type three words at a time.

It's possible she knew, but I also remember lots of people thought the columbine killers' parents should have known about their stockpile and plans, but I truly believe they did not.

GT...This includes twitter? I guess I am confused by your post. Twitter quotes/video feeds from media/reporter personalities are not permitted? Or are you saying they are permitted? I wouldn't know how to link it anyway, but I sure wouldn't want anyone to get TO (timeout) because they misunderstood. And this is a stressful time & subject for so many.
