Marilou Danley's sisters say she didn't know she was going to the Phillippines until the last minute

The other sister said Danley, who arrived back in the US from the Philippines on Tuesday, "didn't even know that she was going to the Philippines, until Steve said, 'Marilou, I found you a cheap ticket to the Philippines.'"

Also confirms one of my earlier suspicions about the killer - in spite of his wealth, he was very frugal when it comes to others in his life. The kind of guy who is always searching the internet for cheap travel deals, doesn't buy furniture, etc. A narcissist who sees the acquisition of money as a power game, especially using it to control others around him.

Vegas gunman bought 33 weapons in last year
Michael Balsamo and Ken Ritter, Associated Press

Las Vegas — Officials say Las Vegas gunman Stephen Paddock had been stockpiling guns since 1982 and bought 33 firearms in the last year.

Jill Snyder, the special agent in charge at the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, tells “CBS This Morning” on Wednesday that Paddock purchased 33 firearms, mostly rifles, between October 2016 and Sept. 28, three days before he opened fire on a concert crowd. The attack killed 59 people and wounded more than 500.

Snyder said authorities wouldn’t get notified of the purchase of rifles, but would get notified if there was a multiple sale of two or more handguns in one purchase.

Snyder said Paddock had rigged 12 semi-automatic rifles with devices that allowed the guns to fire like an automatic weapon...

Stock prices going up doesn't automatically mean sales are up. Sales data probably won't be compiled and available for months. Yes, some people are probably buying guns/accessories now in fear that the government will ban certain types of guns or accessories but for the majority of people, buying a gun right now is probably the *last* thing on their minds.

aww so maybe speculators are driving it up good point

Thankfully this guy was stopped in TN. link

Two fully automatic weapons without serial numbers. It's rather safe to assume that he was up to no good.

I just can't stop wondering how a guy with his means, airplanes, money, multiple homes, travels a lot, how or why he would do this as a lone killer and at his advanced age too, just baffling

LOL. We are supposed to be unduly impressed that he bought his mother a walker.

I wonder if hIS DNA has been run through CODIS yet. No way he hasn't committed any crimes before. IMO
He has lived in hotels and stayed off the grid for a reason.

I've been wondering if maybe he did evil deeds for money. It would explain how he got wealthy, and explain how he vented his evil desires so no one around him knew what his true self was like.

Small planes = drug running?

More important is, where does all that wealth come from. An accountant who worked for IRS and was a letter carrier for USPS. It just doesn't add up. Now it is possible that his dad left him a lot of money.

Agree, something definitely does not add up when it comes to the wealth this man had.

He said he is retired, thanks to his brother. He said he had a job he hated and then his brother gave him the opportunity to make enough money to retire. I’m paraphrasing but it was along those lines. They were in real estate together.

His mannerisms did seem off to me as well in the video I watched. He was all over the place verbally too. Not sure if it’s because he is in shock and processing everything in his own way, or if there is a different reason. JMO

Whatever the brother says about their wealth, I don't buy it. Something is definitely fishy about their wealth. I doubt Paddock made enough $$ working for the government or USPS to become a real estate mogul. Very fishy!!!

Long and interesting 33:51 interview of brother Eric:

At video link:
Wealth from real estate investments and
“He called him an independently wealthy man who basically gambled for a living.”

Or maybe by then the crowd had scattered and he had little chance of hitting anyone else at that distance.

I think he sensed the law was coming for him and he was getting ready to do the final deed.

Graybeal asked the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms to help investigate, since the automatic weapons aren't registered and lack serial numbers. He told The Johnson City Press that Edmisten had apparently modified the AR rifles to make them automatics.

Horrifying, there's no excuse. This seems to be a weekly occurrence. I wonder if he was planning to use them or was trafficking them? There's a lot of drug cartel activity in those areas.

if he gets his house yanked out from under him we may know then that there is something up with these people. I know Florida like Texas is a 100 % homestead state but I do not think that applies if they can prove the house was part of some drug/criminal deal, and this is just my guess I do not know this for sure but if I were this guy I would zip it with the motor mouth and hire a darn good lawyer and spokesperson

His advance age? My husband is 70 but looks and acts much younger and is a very active, trim, muscular man who can do anything someone else can do at a much younger age. I don't think his age has anything to do with his capabilities to plan and carryout his horrendous deeds.

My husband has always been an avid hunter since he was a young boy but he has never heard of a bump stock until this happened, but then he only uses a semi-automatic rifle to hunt deer which means he has to pull the trigger himself.
